I'm probably just too tired tonite to focus; but I read this entire thread, and I'm kind of curious. Which of the springs would you recommend for a little more control while towing, but without raising the rear (too much?)? And it sounds like you also installed shocks in the front if I read that correctly?
So I'd like a little more towing control, but also like the stock unloaded feel and don't want to mess to much with ride height.
I've sworn off other suspension helpers like sumo springs/timbrens and air bags, tried them, done that, didn't like it; but I might gives these springs a shot.
I also recommend 351-891HD or 351-893HD. Ive run both.
Both made the ride a LITTLE (intentionally emphasized) stiffer, but really not at all. The truck rides like a dream unloaded with all three sets ive run so far. I routinely drink coffee from a regular open top mug while driving, and the upgraded springs haven’t stopped me! The hellwig makes more impact on stiffness than the springs did for sure.
My TT has a DRY tongue weight of 715lbs. I estimate 750-800 as it sits loaded. Which is honestly heavy for the 1500, within its capabilities, but heavy.
The 891s gave me 1/4”-1/2” of lift in the rear. It was COMPLETELY imperceptible while looking at the truck and driving. With a WDH i was dead even front to rear with my TT.
The 893s 1”-1 1/4” raise in the rear. A little more noticeable to the eyes, but I couldn’t tell while driving. I sat 1/4-1/2” high in the rear with the TT with these.
BOTH sets handles the camper WAYYYY better than the stock springs.
I do have Billstein 5100s on all four corners. Pretty much just because I could and assumed I would end up where I am now, using the 5100s to lift the front to compensate some. They are definitely a little stiffer than stock, but I prefer that feel personally. If you want stock feel id suggest sticking with the oem shocks for now and see how the springs do ya.
Overall Im beyond pleased with these cargomaxx springs, and i know you will be as well. Get some sleep and re-read through the thread to be sure you’re tracking all the info. Its been a heck of a ride experimenting with these. Thankfully these springs are relatively inexpensive enough that you can try one and if you dont like them..try another.
Im excited to see how my current setup does with the TT. Im loving the look of the truck with the 1” lift in the front and the 893XHDs in the read.

^^^Here is where Ive been getting the springs.^^^
Youll find them under the 2018DT rams, but they fit the newer DS rams perfectly.
