Cargomaxx HD coils

I currently have 351-893XHD springs in and they’re pretty dang nice, though i have another set I may try at some point…im a glutton for trial and error. The rear sat at 39” with the 893HDs. when first hooking up the camper with a WDH the rear was 1 1/4” to 1 1/2” higher than the front(rake). After about four hours of driving, the rear was 1/2” - 3/4” over the front and was a wonderfully comfortable ride.

The 891’s were good, but with them being slightly shorter than the stock springs I dont think they handled the load of the TT the way I wanted. I sent them back shortly after running them for one trip.

I have a set of 351-893HD springs that are yours for cheap if you want to give them a try. I was running them and really liked the way they sat. Until i got overzealous and raised the front haha.

Im still probably going to upgrade to a 2500 at some point, but with the springs in and wdh this 1500 does the trick with a similarly size/weight TT.
This has been a very helpful thread. Gren, I’m heading down the same spring path of perfection. I can appreciate the dedication to getting it dialed in right. I might be throwing my stock ORP springs back on for my camping trip this week or slipping the airlift bags in these spring. I put a set of Thuren springs on the other week and though they say 20% stiffer under load I found them to be softer than my factory springs with the TT hooked up. So embarrassing low I didn’t even try towing down the road with those springs. Also sat lower unloaded than expected too because of the softer rate I assume. I run my truck off road so I was aiming for the dual rate coils for droop with a heavier second rate to handle loaded duty.

I’m thinking the 893HD could be the right ones. As it’s the height I need, just curious how the overall spring rate feels? I have a 21 eco d. The Thurens are super plush but almost too soft for my truck. I have Fox 2.0 rears and Fox 2.5 dsc’s in front. The rear is softer than the front now which I didn’t know was possible. Might be amazing in the whoops now though. might go test that tomorrow. I’m also got my eyes on the Carli rebel coils but they might just be a taller version than what I have now is all. They have HD version but $500 and they said designed for carrying 500 lbs extra all the time in bed. I talked to sales at CJC through Carli and it was generic sales response no real data. Same with Thuren, generic sales response no real data. So I guess I’m headed down that trial and error path here.

The 893HD and XHD springs have both both felt great with daily driving. I also felt the oem springs were a little too soft. The dual rate cargomax springs sured up the ride a LOT. But dont have that HD rattle your teeth feel. I regularly have an open top mug of coffee in the morning and can drink it while driving. I also have upgraded shocks with the 5100s on all corners, as well as a hellwig sway bar. I found the 893XHD to be basically perfect for me after I lifted the front. The 893HD were great with stock front. No Bs these springs should have been the oem springs with all tow packages IMO. Ill pm you about the 893s i have
