Price negotiated from MSRP

Looking for some input on a possible 2025 Laramie purchase. MSRP is at $70,405, consumer cash and truck month $6,500 off, dealer discount was initially around $8,900, additional charges for some coatings put the truck to around $56k. I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with 83k miles on it they offered me $22,750. After some negotiating, they told me they'd get me out the door for $33.5k after trade in. They offered $32k if I signed right there, but needed to talk through everything with the wife tonight.... Am I crazy that there's on way I could do better than this? The only thing it's really missing is a bed liner.
Very similar msrp to a truck I recently purchased (70,750 for mine) I was getting down to around 61-62 pre incentives ended at 53k after all incentives applied, get rid of the 2k in coatings and your in the same area.

DFW metroplex, plenty of options to work through.
walk away, cross the east state line, and go to Mark Dodge in Lake Charles.
no bs, no add-ons, great customer services.

and if you go, shake Aaron and Anthony's hands for me even though it's 2 years too late lol

No reason to put yourself through this when I'm pretty sure Mark Dodge will deliver as far as Houston. Or have it shipped. You might find a comparable deal around you, but what is your time worth?

That sounds like somewhere north of 2K for "coatings" paint protection blah blah. Thats just extra dealer profit. Theres probably a $600-900 doc fee in there as well.

In the past I've paid $1,600 for door edge, tint and stuff like that because the dealer discount was higher than anywhere else. You don't like paying for markups but get that issue out of your head, it's the net out the door cost that matters. I don't care if the truck is $1 and there's $55K in markups, it's the net cost vs what another dealer(s) offer you.
You have a trade and they play games with that value as well.

If you are open to traveling, then get quotes from regional big dealers. Several big names are listed in this thread.
You have a valid point, but I'd rather not give my business to those who take advantage of the grandparent or 20 something buying their first new vehicle. I personally prefer the business model that everyone gets the same deal, regardless of their wits. This is largely a matter of opinion and preference, I know.

Carmax dealers are the one price no negotiation place yet their prices seem high on everything. I agree that the 20 something shouldnt get screwed on their first new car. I had my son use a car buying service to help him out as dear old dad isn’t much of a negotiator.

For example, in 1982 I paid $1K over msrp to get the one Jeep Grand Wagoneer out of fifty on the lot that had a 4 speed. They where probably doing backflips when they sold that one! 😮🤔🤣

Well after working with 5 dealers (including Mark Dodge) over the last few days, the dealer that originally tried to screw me came out the winner. $70.4k MSRP, $53.4k after dealer discounts and savings, trade in up to $24.8k, out the door at $30.9k. I don’t love the game dealers play but I did take a lot of pleasure watching them get frustrated as I told them the # they had to beat or I walked, felt like a win. Happy to join the Ram family, nicest truck I’ve ever owned.

I got my 2025 RAM Big Horn Night Edition Crew Cab for $44k OTD including TTFs and MOPAR drop-in bed liner. MSRP was $59800, and that did not include the bed liner. I can't complain about that price. I love driving my RAM. Drives just as good as my 2 Mercedes.

Awesome price.

I'm new here, saw this thread and thought it would be a good place for a first post. Just got my 1500 tonight!

2025 1500 Laramie - Diamond Black
  • $75,545 MSRP
  • $67,343 Dealer Price
  • -$7000 rebate
  • -$500 negotiated off
  • $59,843 paid
Looking at prices in my area and slightly beyond this seems like a good deal. It's got the Bed Utility Group, Night Edition, Level 2 Equipment Group, Dual Pane Sunroof and the Black Tubular side steps as well. The 45 minute ride home was great and I can't wait to go cruising around tomorrow to really check it out!

Most everyone knows TK on you tube has been sayin 30-35% off msrp is coming.
Well sure enough i found 30% off on several 25 Big Horns at a Ca dealer today. Other Rams were more like 20% off.
It's part dealer discount and part Ram discounts and rebates, with about 1/3 coming from the dealer.
There could be gimmicks here, and you can't be certain that the discount is for real, but it is on their website.
That one dealer is Knight Cjdr. It's just an example of what you might find elsewhere. I don't know them from Adam.

ah Knight CJDR.
I saw their 2024 Tradesman Power Wagon discounted to 49.5K at 11PM.
12hrs later when i was gonna show it to my friends it went back to $65k.
then, 12 hours later at 11PM it went down to $48.5K

at that point i realized that was bullcrap and decided I'm better off ordering from Mark Dodge when I'm finally ready to order Thuren parts for the PW. (I order parts and truck together and start the mods the first week of delivery)

Boogie new build thread coming soon lol.

Not sure why Knight Cjdr would move prices up and down within the day. Sounds sketchy at a minimum. As mentioned, the majority of their Ram prices were about 20%off.

I was able to verify that on of their list of discounts, one for $1500 used trade in bonus is apparently total bs, so be careful.

It's additionally concerning that say all Big Horns or all Laramies don't have similar discounts. That smells of potential bait and switch.

It's also odd that on Tks garage, you do not see lists of dealers with 30 off. That's almost proof positive there are no countrywide consistent discounts in the 30 off range, and all may be suspect, once you get past 20% off.

Best deal I could find in the mid-atlantic region for 2025 Limited Ram 1500 Night Edition with HO Engine, MFT, Dual Pane Sunroof, Bed Utility, Lvl A Equip Group- $76,136 OTD. How is it lining up with everyone else out there?

That should include about $4k in taxes etc, and if so that's $72k for the truck. At a minimum that shoud be a $92k msrp.
If you can't get a legit $20 before taxes off of 90k+, suggest you right away, call Anthony at Mark Dodge. He's the real deal. No bs

Purchased earlier this week.
2025 Big Horn/Lone Star 4x4 w/ Night and Level 2.
MSRP $61,755.
Dealer Discount 8253
Rebates $10,000 ($2k of which was a private code Ram Brands sent to my email)
Selling price $43,501 + TT&L
No dealer add-ons or strange taxes/fees.
There was a trade involved, but that was their online price and it was honored with or without the trade. They gave me $500 more than I was originally asking for on the trade just to make deal happen.
Dallas area dealership (but slightly outside of the city)

You got a full 30% off. That's about 1/3 from the dealer and 2/3 from Ram, so it's a grand slam home run!

I second that opinion. I also bought my ram Laramie Longhorn from Mark Dodge and it was the most honest and smoothest dealer experience I’ve ever had. Not to mention a fantastic price on a truck. It was worth it for me drive 10 hours down from Southwest Missouri to bring the truck home
