2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Been over 4 weeks now that my truck has been at the dealer in the shop. They are waiting on a part that includes the sensors for the transmission. At least I have the Grand Cherokee loaner.
212a mobil 1 extended performance best filter out there

Alright I've got a strange one, and hopefully it's not an RF hub. The buttons on my remote are doing nothing, the light on the remote flashes when I hit a button but no response from the truck.

Other than the buttons not working everything else (touching the door handle to unlock, touching the indent on the door handle to lock, start the truck) all works totally normal. Even when you touch the door handle the remote lights up to acknowledge that you've unlocked the truck.
So you didn't get the "no key fob detected" message when trying to start the truck when this was happening as well?

It's EXTREMELY frustrating that RAM has not fixed this issue that has been going for years now. I know others have had it happen on years older than 24', but my 24' Limited did this, and now my 25' Tungsten just had it happen last Friday!!!! WTF

Nope, truck acted totally normal besides not being able to hit buttons on the remote. A battery disconnect seemed to fix the issue.

My First tow with my new '25. 🤣😭

Quick history. Just got the truck last month. Drove it around for a few weeks to break it in, then took it on a 3000 mile road trip to Oklahoma and back last weekend . Drove it a couple of times since then around town. Wanted to keep the miles down, so then I parked it last Sunday night and let it sit there for 6 days. Friday night, I tried to take it again, but the doors wouldn't unlock. Took the key out of the fob to open the door, popped the hood, brought my jeep over to jumpstart it. Nope, Key fobs not detected. Tried touching the fob to the start button, still says key not detected. Same thing with the other fob. Called assistance. Battery analyzer I had said both batteries were malfunctioning.

Had to drag it onto the tow truck 😪 because they couldn't release the brake

We have had our '25 1500 SST Laramie since July and are now at 2600-miles or so. So far it has been a less than happy experience as we've had it back in for:
  • Front Sensor unavailable (dealer said a bad ground wire in the connector, so they spliced one in  instead of replacing the harness)
  • Miss-fire codes P03xx - twice, first time they blamed it on 87octane gas and cleared the codes, the second time the PCM flash became available. So far so good?
  • Passenger window auto-up not working - twice, first time they needed to order parts. Waited several weeks to parts to come it, but then it didn't fix the issue. Second time, so far so good
  • Front parking sensor intermittently inactive - dealer claimed to fix it, but still struggling with intermittent functionality
  • Surging/stumbling intermittently at low RPM - dealer couldn't replicate, so no action
  • Dead battery - they blamed an accessory cable connected into the 12v dashtop socket, but nothing was connected to the cable. The device (dash cam) was inside the house.
    • One thing I noticed last night after the truck had been sitting for several hours. I happened to walk by and I heard a click-swish like the fuel pump priming or releasing. Way too long after we parked it for it to be drawing power from the battery (IMO)
Then there is the stuff that is not living up to the window-sticker:
  • Fuel economy on highway is nowhere near the published 21mpg and is actually sitting around 18mpg (makes me wonder what other numbers are misleading... like hp?)
  • Dealer directive to use premium fuel in hot weather and to avoid misfires
So far, we've been without our truck for almost 19days out of the last 4months and we now have the ESC recall to look forward to in a month. <sigh>

I really want to love the truck. The power delivery is smooth and it pulls well. The interior is great (Sea Salt / Bison Brown ) the infotainment is cool in how many features and options.

But right now I don't know that I would trust it to drive out of the county.

Interesting --
Last week or so, my cold starts are wobbly - rough, but no CEL.
91 octane. 5700 miles

For the mpg: what’s the traffic situation? Hilly or flat? Average speed? Outside temperature? Rear axle ratio? Acceleration fast or smooth? Is the truck 2WD or 4WD?… All of those things are gonna effect mpg. The sticker mpg is a 2x2, low gear ratio, flat, 70 °, smooth acceleration, XX MPH, etc.

-As far as MPG, on my 4x4 Laramie with 3.55 rear, I have averaged 20 mpg for a tank full a couple of times. This is mixed driving and hand calculated math.
-As far as noises coming from the car after it is shut down, I too have noticed that at times it seems to be making noises long after shut down. Once while cleaning the exterior, I kept hearing what I thought was a beep every minute or so. After looking closer, I realized it was more of a high pitched mechanical sound coming from under the hood. I started the truck, drove it, and then shut it down again and the noise seemed to stop. But it didn't give me a good feeling about someday walking out to a dead battery.
-As far as misfires, I have never used less than 89 octane in my truck. I had the dealer check for codes and they said there was not any misfires codes. I was expecting to find some, but maybe using 89 or higher has kept my truck from experiencing any misfires.
-As far as stumbling, I only notice a quick stumble during idle on cold starts. Happens only once and seems to happen at the same exact time on every cold start. I thought it would register as a misfire, but dealer checked and no misfire codes.

As far as parked/off noises: I just came from a 21 F-150 and that bad boy clicks relays, pings and pops sometimes 2 hours after parking. And it’s in perfect working condition. Totally normal behavior. The more doohickies and Diddlywhompusses in a vehicle, the more it’s gonna talk while off.

-As far as MPG, on my 4x4 Laramie with 3.21 rear, I have averaged 20 mpg for a tank full a couple of times. This is mixed driving and hand calculated math.

Mine's a 4x4 with the 3.92 rear. The commute I've used for mileage calculations is a no-cargo, flat, 20mi stretch at 70mph average. Also, I should correct that the window sticker on my Ram actually reads 24mpg highway (not the 21mpg on my earlier post). While I know published numbers are idealized somewhat, it is still disappointing - especially considering the direction from the dealer to use premium gas in the summer. By the way, window sticker numbers for 2wd are 18/25mpg. Better/different than the 17/24mpg published for my 4x4.

Regarding the delayed system noises... it just seems disconcerting to have systems active that long after it has been parked. I know there have been reports by other forum members of parasitic drain and other power drain issues leading to dead batteries. I don't claim to have the answer, just a little worried of a repeat failure.

On the plus side, my wife absolutely loves the interior and bells and whistles. We'll just have to expand our roaming range cautiously until we build up confidence in its reliability.

I need to go back and correct my post. My new 2025 Ram has the 3.55 rear which is standard. The 3.21 I mentioned was on my old Ram with the hemi.

Hey guys just got my 2025 Rebel X and I am absolutely in love. Traded in my 2020 Rebel. I’m a little disappointed at the lack of aftermarket for exhaust and cai but I understand it’s a new engine/model. Just curious if anyone is finding anything cool out in the aftermarket specifically for the 2025. I’m most likely ordering the BMS JB4 tuner as I’m familiar with their products and love them in my BMW. What’s everyone finding?IMG_2361.jpeg

Nice truck! I am interested in the JB4 as well, curious if anyone has tried it out.

I was looking at the same truck here in TX recently. Was hoping that Ram would do a buyback but so I could grab this bad boy but they declined it. :( Guess I'll trade up in a few years and after they fix all these issues.

I live in NW Illinois. I drove a few hours south and was able to purchase this $15k under sticker price. Well worth my 2 hour drive. I actually went to purchase another one in the Sand color but my wife hated it and this forged blue really pops in person

The best I’ve seen so far (assuming the truck display is accurate) is 16mpg with cruise set at 55
