4th gen Bakflip F1 fits. Not saying it's waterproof or as good as the new design but It does fit nicely. It will leak at the tail gate corners like the rest but the rubber overhangs all perimeters just enough. No issues worth any hardware at all! Full function to Rambox lids. Have to close bak cover after tailgate as perthe design of this model.

Very happy to now be able to burn money elsewhere in the truck

Thanks - very good to know. It also looks like it sits better than the redesigned 2019 MX4. Now I'm wondering how a 2018 MX4 would fit...

Here is how I installed the tailgate seal. Thinking I may try and move the top seal even higher to see if that helps more. Like I said got a little water in rear corners after going through car wash. View attachment 10402

Was eyeballing this and think that if you angle the top seals it would help shed water even more. On the passenger side, start high (just under the Bak rail) and then angle down to the top of your other seal. We know water is going to get in there and rather than having it sit on a horizontal seal waiting to work its way in, it would be shed to the outside of the horizontal seal.

I was looking at the Bak Revolver X4, RetraxPro MX, and the Truxedo Sentry CT. I decided to go with a Truxedo Sentry CT because I wanted something that that could be fairly easily removed in the even I truly needed the full bed. I really considered the Retrax, but due to the canister taking up about a foot and that it was double the price of the Bak or Truxedo, I couldn't really go for it. Hopefully it will ship out fairly soon. I'll be sure to take some pictures and post my thoughts.

Do the rails of the Truxedo protrude the bed as much as the rails of the BakFlip MX4? I believe the MX4 measured 1-3/8" each side. Does anyone know if the rails of either of these easy to removed? I will need as much width as possible to get my atv in for the solo trips I take with the guys (I rather leave the monster enclosed trailer at home if I'm only taking one machine). Was sort of a gamble going with a rambox for me.

Is this the same as earlier build 5ths? I'm mid Nov? I actually have a few other observations but as I type this i realize this deserves specific attention.

If you pop out the caps, that's where you can add the pin and handle for the bed extender. It's designed such that you maintain the width, even with the extender.

I got my Truxedo Sentry CT in today (Model #1584916). I ordered from tonneaucoverswarehouse.com this past Friday evening, used a 11% off coupon code (SAVE11PROMO), and will be submitting the paperwork for a $75 rebate. Total came to $853.51 and after I get my rebate the cost paid will be essentially $778.51. Installation was super simple, even in the dark with just a house flood light, and consisted of the following:

• Wipe down and clean all surfaces.
• Mount weather seals a front bulkhead. There was a weather seal placed along the top of the bulk head and small weather seals placed on the face of the bulkhead where the rails meet the bulkhead.
• Install brackets on factory rails at specific locations using supplied flat bar welded nut, lock washer and bolt. It's important to measure twice as the locations need to be fairly exact since the tonneau rails bolt to these brackets.
• Mount the tonneau rails to the brackets using supplied bolt, spacer, washer, and locknut. There is a thick weather seal along the entire edge where the rail meets the side of the bed.
• Place the cover and align the pins with the tonneau rails at the bulk head and lock in place by sliding a locking bracket. This sliding locking bracket allows for quick removal of the cover if the full bed length is needed.
• Unroll cover, press down to lock, and press down on the velcro along both sides.

I'll be testing water resistance in the coming days and will take some photos in the daylight. As far as how far out the tonneau rails stick, it's about as far as the sliding factor tie downs at the factory rails (I'll take some measurements when I take photos). I'm happy with the look and how it has a fairly low profile. The tonneau rails don't interfere with the factory rails and their use.

I had someone send a message asking how I'm like the cover and figured I would get around to positing an update here as well.

Overall, I'm happy with it. In a heavy rain or going through a car wash there is some water that makes it's way into the bed. This appears to mainly come from the tailgate at the gaps between tailgate and the edge of the rambox. I think this is an issue with the BAK products as well and probably requires another gasket or something that really has nothing to do with the cover.

I like the matte finish and it's low profile design. I had to take a loveseat to the dump the other day and the ability to quickly remove the entire roll came in handy. I was able to remove it within seconds and push the loveseat in all the way and close the tailgate. Re-installation of the roll was quick and easy as well. I could have simply tied the loveseat down with the tailgate open, but I prefer to keep the tailgate closed when possible.

Rolling the cover up and back down is quick and easy (haven't tried in freezing temps yet). It's not quite as convenient as something like a retrax (due to having to push down the velcro), but I keep it closed 90% of the time, so for me it's not a big deal. I found that in order for the weatherstrip to sit properly at the tailgate you have to unlatch the cover, close the tailgate, and then latch the cover. This is only an issue if you want to open the tailgate, toss something in the back, and close the tailgate (without opening the cover). It actually is possible to close it and then adjust the weathstrip, but to me its just quicker to unlatch, close the tailgate, and then latch. There may be some adjustments that can be made, but I haven't really looked as I would prefer a good weatherstrip cover to keep as much water out as possible.

One thing I like more about something like the retrax is the ability to lock the cover down at different positions. For me, this isn't worth the added cost and having to carry an extra key. I guess there are positives and negatives for any cover style and you just have to figure out what works best for your needs and budget.

Just talked to Luke @ Truck Alterations about my MX4 order and he said that Bak cancelled all of the back orders and is on hold again due to some issue. He expects resolution mid to late Jan.

Anyone have any insights into what it might be?

Bak cancelled all back orders of the Mx4 only, or for their Revolverx4 as well? I wonder if that is why my local guy hasn't gotten back to me for the last week, when he previously said he expected it two weeks ago.

Truck Alterations told me the same thing. Morrie at factorytonneauoutlet told me there is no issue and they are shipping as soon as they can make them. I called Bak and they told me the same thing as Morrie. Bak told me that the Mx4 will start shipping again January 7.

Yep, if you recall I have a contact at BAK from the prototype mx4 fitting I did with them. They said they are full production and shipping.

I have been trying to get a hold of a MX4 or the identical LineX Stealth cover for a while. Everyone kept pushing the dates back every time I talked to them. I had to take my truck in for other issues during my road trip to Nashville and asked them about the mopar hard folding version and they had just received two of them and they were sitting right behind the counter. So for $783 I went ahead got it since it would be a huge help on the road trip back even though it wasn’t the matte black I was looking for. It looks great and install was simple. Sits nearly flush. Only water intrusion is as expected between the tailgate and rambox gap.

Here is my mopar cover. I really don’t have any complaints about it. The only thing I have noticed is to secure it upright against the glass the arm is too long so you have to completely unscrew and remove bracket to place securing arm and then screw the bracket back on. Only adds about 10 seconds so I am not too worried about it.

That is the exact same cover as the BAK mx4.... In fact, I think bak manufacturers it for Mopar
