I got a OTA update today. It said it was to fix the preset loss, the backup cam, blue tooth and other issues. I'm hoping this fixes everything

That update is the one that also addresses the recent recall notice. I haven't received the OTA yet, did you have your truck connected to wifi when you got the OTA?

I was on the way home from work and stopped at the hardware store when the notification popped up. Knowing I was going to be a while in the store and having exceptional cell service right there in town, I went ahead with installing the update instead of scheduling for a later time. I was in the store 25 to 30 minutes and when I got back in the truck, the display had a notification saying an update has been installed saying somethings may not work correctly for the next 24 hours and with the option to see what's new or exit out. I hit what's new and my only regret is not taking a picture of what is said. I don't remember it saying anything about the recall, but it did say it fixes the issues with the backup camera which I am assuming that it is the recall issue

Yeah the backup camera issue is the recall. I got a recall notice in the mail about it probably 2 weeks ago and it said I could either take it in to a dealer and have it fixed, or wait for an OTA that would fix the issue. I never had a single issue with my backup camera so I figured I would just wait for the OTA since my dealer is 30 miles away.

My truck is a week new! 2 days after buying it the media won’t play anything except FM radio. The usb sticks it won’t even recognize now. But they did first 2 date and played my music. Also now Bluetooth isn’t working. I’ll be making a call but the radio will play fm and not my phone audio. I’m hoping this update you mention fixes these issues. It’s my 3rd time buying a ram. Only my first one was great quality back in 2014. My 2019 radio would constantly restart while driving and the backup camera screen would turn blue. FCA was supposed to do the update and a year later they still didn’t so my dealership rolled back the software somehow and it didn’t mess up after that. But will I buy a 4th ram after this bs? @RamCares needs to get this crap fixed ASAP for everyone. Toyota doesn’t have these issues. I may have to switch brands instead of supporting a lemon making company?

That blue screen but without any words was my 2019 ram experience. This new ram pisses me off even more.
How reliable do you think their EV trucks will be if they can’t do a simple stereo? When I’m forced to go EV I’m gonna want quality and reliability… searching EV research on YouTube doesn’t show much for RAM, but Toyota seems to be going huge with a solid state battery which supposedly will be safer, more energy density (therefore cheaper they claim), and more.
RAM step up your game ! Start making quality products. Why send ppl vehicles without properly putting the radios through the ringer with hrs and hrs of proper testing to prevent these crap issues.

Holy Shyte! Thanks for sharing that. I’m just frustrated over my stereo ONLY being good for FM radio, heck I drive 45 min to and from work and id be happy to use a cassette deck in my truck right about now.

I did! It’s not working at all. It’s why I’m so pissed. The ONLY thing working is fm radio. It angers me more since this is my 2nd ram in a row to have a screwed up stereo. The last one RAM didn’t even fix even though I was told they’d do an update. After more than a year they still didn’t fix it and I had to get the dealership to roll the software back…. I’m not gonna be happy if they screw me over again. Toyota cares about their quality reputation more than any auto manufacturer so all their problems I think will get fixed much faster.

My issues are also related to water somehow swing problems only occur after rain or wet snow. Still anti sis definitely sub par as far as customer service.
Hopefully you will get it resolved soon but seeing these posts all over and the service I’ve been getting I do not see how any company could not be better, I know for sure they could not be worse!

Have you tried turning off and back on? Just kidding, sort of... Mine hung up on FM on day one and because I had to be back at the dealer the next morning, I let them handle it. They had their tech girl come out and she went into the settings and did the full factory reset. This took care of that problem and all I had left was the resetting of the presets. I never experienced the camera issues. Knock on wood, I have not had any problems since the update last Friday.

I can tell you one thing for sure.. RAM Canada SUCKS! I had posted a pic of my blue screen back in 2019 and they deleted the post within 5 min and blocked me from commenting. If I go to the Us Ram facebook page @RamCares is actively addressing the many comments on the page, not deleting them all and blocking the ppl. You guys in the states get much much better customer care than we do up here. Canadian satisfaction really doesn't matter.
