What kind of proof/conclusion lead the dealership to change the struts? I’ve taken it to the dealer several times and they are brushing it off. What are the chances you still have the work order from them doing that and could possibly blank your personal info and share it with me? I just want to take something to the dealership and say “this worked for other people with the same issue”.
I reached out to Ram Care about it, ultimately it took threatening to leave the vehicle with them and pulling the lemon law on them. They know the vehicle isn't right but they won't replace the struts because Ram doesn't believe that there is anything wrong with them spec wise. The shop manager took the time to talk with me and decided to swing in my favor to replace the struts. Sadly you might have to do the same. But Ram Care can pull up my case and compare notes. I waited almost 6 months for struts on my truck. I can honestly saw I was ready to leave the truck with them but they got the struts and I'm happy with my truck again. Case # 80437846 for reference. 14k on the clock, from 9k to 13k I hated this truck. I hope from this experience the Dealership will listen to me going forward.

Thank you for all the info. I called Ram care again and they said they couldn’t assign a case manager without an appointment. I drive my truck for work so I can’t leave it with them and there are no loaners right now. I have 57.5k miles on my truck as of today. Recall was done in April when I had roughly 39k on it. They keep telling me my truck is out of warranty and that I’ll have to pay, but my problem with that is the issue only came up after the recall. Drove perfect before the recall. I told the original dealer that did the recall back in April that I wanted my original springs back on the truck because I was unhappy with the ride quality. They trashed my springs and they didn’t tell me they were doing the recall. They had my truck in for something and they did the recall about 3 weeks before I got a recall letter in the mail without my consent. I can’t pull the lemon law thing cause of my mileage, and I need my truck for work since I travel. I wish I could just leave it with them but I just want it fixed correctly.

Has anyone had the recall done on the coil springs and noticed their truck start to handle bumps horribly? My 2020 now bounces over bumps as if the shocks are blown. Sometimes the suspension bottoms out on the freeway if I go over a large enough separation in pavement or transition In the road between pavement and say a bridge or overpass.

Yeah mine did the same thing, they had to replace the struts to fix the issue. After they did that, the issue went away completely.
I wish I had seen your posts sooner. I am having the exact same issue. Hate the ride now. This is my story...

@Swhittley1016 You sound like you are having the same problem I am having. Please pm me with your story, I am going to call the dealer and try to get the ball rolling now that winter is coming. If they won't help I am going to reach out to @RamCares and see if they can do something. I'm sorry you are dealing with this also. I thought from talking to other BTS owners that it was just me.

Pretty neat. Off-topic of patches, but on topic for dogs... I got a crate pad for my 85lb Pit, so he doesn't have to get on the seats like he did in my old truck, lol.

I built a new level for the dogs with storage underneath by putting the seats up. Even with the seats up in the new larger Gen 5's (I had a gen 4), the back of a crew cab is the size of a twin sized bed perhaps four or five inches short side to side. A 2 inch memory foam twin mattress and old quilts and it's actually nice. I have had two 90, 100 lbs dogs "living" back there during long camping trips in perfect comfort. An average human could easily sleep back there short no scrunching tall just a bit.

They don't make any that match the color of our wheels. You either get chrome or black from factory. Or do a little DIY and add color yourself. I used Stealth Grey Hyperdip from www.dipyourcar.com. Not a perfect match, but as close as I have seen.

I appreciate it. I saw some matte black center caps as well as glossy black for sale on eBay. Anything would be better than the chrome, lol. I just don't understand the chrome lug nuts and center cap on a blacked out vehicle...

I don't like the black center caps either. There is just as much constrast in color with those and they look weird to me

Im new to the forums here. I Wish i had come here sooner. I just got my truck back after having them look at it again because of these trash springs they just put on my truck. They tested it said everything was normal. Normal is not bouncing like a ball down the freaking road. I’ll take any advice anyone has over the recalled springs issue.

Need to verify you have the proper HD shocks/struts to match the springs.
Clean one is front strut, dirty is rear shock. Those are correct part numbers.

I just checked, it looks like those are the part numbers i have.

So the ride is suppose to be bouncy? Normally i can push up or push down on a car it will compress the shock, and slowly return to normal position. But now when i do it, it just bounces in and out. No absorption. Maybe that is the new normal and is supposed to be this way? But i’ve never driven a car or truck where it was suppose to be a bouncy ride. I can’t even feel the truck turn. It has no bite, it just sways side to side.

Definitely not supposed to be bouncy

Just go to an auto paint supply store, they can color match the wheels.

I'm good. Got it taken care of and no custom mixing needed for paint

I had to get under the rig today and double checked the part number against the one you posted. Overall, the numbers are the same with the exception of the front strut number after A. On mine, the number after A is 0350 whereas yours is A1680. Did not check the rear struts today as I got sidetracked. I spoke to Ram Cares and they said they would not escalate this to a case until the truck has been diagnosed.

They did mention that no matter what, the work would be covered for two years after having it done so if it is a problem, they will continue to fix it. I am in the same boat as another poster who cannot just take numerous days off to have them diagnose then another day to do the work. All I need is a tech to come for a ride on the highway and drive with me for 10 miles or so. 15-20 minutes before I go to work and then I can take a day to let them do the service.

Excuse me????? Are you kidding me? This is the answer I get for my truck going from a clean crisp ride quality to a bouncing piece of junk..... Apparently I made a mistake going to the dealership here in town. This is a joke, I drive the same path of road every day and to go from crossing the railroad tracks that I cross every day where it is a simple bloop and steady as she goes to a huge bounce and basically making me question if the suspension is going to bottom out? No.... Replace the struts and be done with it.... Or better yes, is it a preload spacer that is needed? or anything for that matter.... Just because the dealer putted around and hit small bumps and was satisfied doesn't mean it is fixed.... This really chaps my rear..... Like are you kidding me? $50k for a truck to rides like an old caddy on the interstate and can't handle big bumps anymore after you swap my springs? Not a soul on this forum would accept that.

@RamCares This is your Case Manager that you pawned me off to. I'm sorry I've built offroad racers, I have built drift cars, I have built drag cars, I have built Rock crawlers, I have a current built car that I plan to road race. I think I know suspension just a little bit. This suspension isn't ok. This suspension is dangerous in the wrong hands, especially at highway speeds. Fix it. Not asking for the world. I dropped off a truck that road really nice and had a nice crisp feeling to it that I knew like the back of my hand. I expect the same in return when I get it back. If you can't deliver that then we need to discuss you guys buying the truck back from me and me going to a different brand.

This is for public view. - I'll post a video of my truck and of the test drive I go on later today.

I apologize for the rant. Just annoyed that this is how Ram wants to handle it.
I just had my 2020 BTS in for the spring recall and now mine bounces like a 77 Cordoba. Were you able to get Ram to fix it? if so do you have a case number I could quote to them? Thanks.

My 21 Spitfire orange fortunately came with the correct suspension for the offroad package and it feels fine. No crazy bounce but it does ride softer than my old 11 ram without the offroad package. The 21 is the most comfortable truck I've owned. My buddy that owned nothing but trucks even complimented on how nice it rides
