My trip down there is going to top 1,500 miles, and 3,000 miles round trip in 5 days. I can sell my truck up here for a little more than trade in value, but not enough to offset losing the trade in tax credit or the additional cost to ship up here or fly/drive. New truck will get broken in on the drive home and will probably change the oil at that point as well.
Can you imagine if you had arranged a pick up for say, 2 weeks ago when the whole south was iced over? That would have been a disastrous road trip. Just watch the weather, if anyone is thinking of flying into Denver this weekend, uhh, don’t! (It might make for some good “RAM vs Snowmageddon” threads though...)

PM me and I'll see if my numbers can beat anyone else. The guy I use is a great provider out of TX and is fully insured. I believe they insure against damage at no additional charge up to $150K. They are well known and highly respected in the auto transport business. No money in this for me and you will work directly with them...just trying to help a bunch of Forum buds save money if I can :)
That would be awesome. I am interested in ordering my Rebel from Aaron but concerned that the shipping estimates from LA to PA will eat up most of the savings.

Just got my vin # from Aaron, also inquired what exactly I would lose if I opted for 0%. I figured it would be the rebates and coupons, but apparently it would only be $500 of the $1,750 rebate. So as of now I'll be looking into switching over to 0% tomorrow. Confirmed if the rebate should go up by some large amount, I can opt to switch back to the full rebate without the 0%. Aaron has been great thus far, and another thanks to Silent Bob and the others in this thread.

Did he give you any indication what credit score someone would need to qualify for zero percent financing?

Thanks, Chuck

LOL funny you should mention that...guess where I was during that snowmageddon? You guessed it, I was driving to Bryan TX from NY and back during all of that. To top it all off, the event we went to Texas for, got cancelled when we were about 60 miles away. I wrote up a lengthy description in the Texas storm thread over on one of the other ram forums, but I have pictures of my truck from driving out of Texas, through Arkansas and to Nashville where my truck looked like we drove through Alaska or something. I've driven in a lot of bad weather but that day in particular (valentines day leaving Texas) was the worst I've ever had to contend with.

I didn't ask but my credit score is currently a 721 so I know that qualifies at least.

2021 RAM1500 Lone Star (Built to Serve Edition) Flame Red. I found it extremely difficult to find a dealer that would even entertain anything lower than MSRP + Rebates for the Built to Serve trucks. I got several "take it or leave it" type replies.

Huffines CDJR Lewisville, TX

Original Negotiated Deal:

MSRP: $55885
Sale price: $51,200
Rebates: -$5,750 ($4,250 In the typical rebates + $500 True Car + $1000 related to my employment).
Final Sale Price: $45,450 + TTL

What I ended up with:

MSRP: $55885
Sale price: $51,200
Rebates: -$4,500 (1 rebate of $1250 subtracted since it couldn't be combined with 0% 72 month).
Final Sale Price: $46,700 + TTL

I elected for the latter deal because the 0% 72 month loan had significant total savings vs the normal Chrysler Capital rate (over 3%) and even my personal bank's (USAA) rate of 2.49%. Saves ~$2k over the life of the loan.

Typically, I have found in the past that it needs to be above a 740, but they may go lower. Guess it's really up to FCA and a dealer may not even know this information. Just don't rely on Credit Karma to tell you your real credit score. You need to have an Equifax, Experian or Transunion account to get the real score that the dealers use.

I was told that qualification is based mainly on a combination of your credit score, income, and debt.

Maybe...if some folks can just let go like they were told;)

>16% is a very solid deal and 0% to boot. How many miles is it from the shipping point to destination? I have a relationship with a car shipper that gives me killer deals. Happy to price it out for you if interested.
I will definitely take you up on that offer (if its extended to me) when mine comes in. I will be shipping from Mark dodge as well.

Ok so first of all this is an awesome thread. I have learned a ton reading through everyone's tips here. I have a 2008 Big Horn with 265k miles on it. Things are starting to happen with it now and since it is my daily driver and everything else I think it's time for a new one. I really like the rebel and am wondering what kind of percentage off of MSRP should I be expecting on purchasing one? I saw the posts that referred to what would constitute an ok/good/great deal for a Big Horn but I am guessing that those numbers might be lower for the Rebel. Anyway, wondering what you folks thought I should be looking for as a percentage off of MSRP on the Rebel. Thanks.

I did. Bought my truck from Mark Dodge During that time. Took roughly 10days for someone to pick it up But did get delivered next day to Illinois.

I've been pricing a Rebel order with a few dealers. Unfortunately, they are not as highly discounted as some other trim levels. The Rebel rebate even dropped from $1,500 in Feb to $1,000 in March for Truck Month. I have no idea why perhaps since they are more limited in production volume and more of a specialty vehicle. 12% off MSRP is about the best that I am seeing from the volume dealers mentioned here. My build MSRP is $61,250.

The Rebels, unfortunately, have always been on the lower end of the rebate spectrum. They’re up there with the Limiteds in terms of the smaller rebate amounts.

I got 12.3% MSRP off plus some incentives from Phillip Olson at Bud Clary on my ordered Rebel the last day of Feb.. Phillip has been very communicative and helpful with a little hiccup we had in the ordering process. I don't know how but he let me lock in a couple of incentives also.
None of the other dealers in Nor Cal were even remotely interested in negotiating. Hoblit Ram in Woodland said "I'm not interested in playing stupid car dealer games"

Oh wow. That is about exactly what the MSRP of the build I am looking at is. Thanks.

I think I am going to try to hold off until May and hope that new and better incentives will be around then.

I'm having the same debate right now. Mark Dodge told me 10-13 weeks on orders and I'll be doing a no money down transaction @ 0% interest. If you look at a financed amount of $ 65,000 over 54 months (I never do more than 54), you can use this calculator - https://www.moneyunder30.com/auto-loan-calculator

My credit union is 2.49% interest rates today and could be higher in July so $65K over 54 months ends up being $3,777.10 in interest. So unless FCA does a $3500+ rebate in July when I supposedly would take delivery, the 0% interest is far more valuable to me.

Not saying it's not a good idea to hold off until May but I think I may lock in my order in March and then see if in July, the rebates are better.

Just saying my rational, everyone's situation is different.

Locking in now with the 0% option does seem extremely attractive. Phillip Olson at Bud Clary mentioned that is what most folks have been doing.

That is a very good rate for a credit union, unless it's larger and national. My CU's rate is 4%! I considered a theoretical target of 3.5% when I bought in January, and compared the 0% I actually got to that. 0% is an excellent deal. In my case, I had 16% off MSRP, then the 0% as well. I'd've preferred 18% and the 0% finance, but...it was what it was. In retrospect, it was one of the last available before the chip shortage really began to affect buyers wanting to build. I got the Technology and Advanced Safety groups, both of which I understand are not available to order for the rest of 2021 model year?

You're right, I've seen 'regular' financing hovering as high as 6% right now. My CU's best rate does require score of 750 or higher and they always use the lowest score. I'm just saying to anyone waiting for $3-5,000 in RAM incentives, it's likely more valuable to take advantage of 0% interest (which I hear requires over 700, sometimes higher score) from RAM.

There is a link to a loan calculator here that automatically compares rebates vs lower interest.

Rebate vs. lower interest: Which car incentive is right for you?

If you have to choose between lower cost or lower interest. Includes a rebate vs interest calculator. LINK

PenFed has good auto loan rates as well as the $1000 rebate.
