First off, let me start off by saying I hate to be negative but I am completely over this truck. My 2014 Sport was beyond fantastic and this 2019 has been nothing more than a let down for what I thought was my next dream truck. This is where I am at at almost 2k miles.

1. I have the clunk and I am still awaiting parts and repair.
2. I have had a wobble/shake/bounce like feeling since I purchased this truck. First time to dealer they said they couldn’t replicate it. Second time they balanced tires. It still exists and I am not sure at this point if it is a tire issue or something else. But it definitely makes me feel a little uneasy about the safety of the vehicle.
3. The paint on the ramboxes is subpar. I thought I had fixed it by applying some polish but it is still easily noticeable in direct sun.
4. Weak A/C performance. It struggles to cool the cabin. After first dealer visit they said it was within tolerance at 57 degrees. Second time they said they charged it. Minor improvement but still ultimately underperforms. It also seems to have a mind of it’s own and even if you don’t have the defrost on it creates a fog on the windshield during evening or overnight hours.
5. My brake pedal makes clicking/squeak noises when applying. Not sure if it is something on the electronic side or if something is loose. Another possible safety issue.
6. Noticed yesterday that after driving in rain or going through a car wash the driver’s side carpet is soaked.
7. I have the same issue as described in other posts where after starting it sounds like it is about to stall. I am also unsure if this relates to the fact that I have poor gas mileage. Even with a majority of highway driving, I struggle to get at least 15 MPG even with etorque. That combined with the smaller tank, which makes no sense, makes me feel like I am always putting gas in it.

These are in no particular order and I could go on about the HK sound system and other minor issues but I won’t. I understand new vehicles can have issues but this is just too much for a vehicle with a price tag over 60k or any price for a new vehicle. I will give the service department a chance to fix everything as thats all I can do but I am completely discouraged by everything. It definitely seems like at this point that Ram was not ready for building this truck and with the abundance of issues still occurring on builds they aren’t overly concerned with it either.

Again, sorry for the negativity and I know there are probably more builds without issues than there are with, but this is not acceptable in my opinion. Built to serve who?

Hopefully the dealership takes care of you / hooks you up. Have any of these been fixed? Like the leak? Just curious for future guys to be able to push the dealer when they see similar defects.

Sounds like you won the crap lottery and got ALL the common problems that others on this forum are having. That is unfortunate. From what I read the leak in the sunroof is fixable. Something with a drain tube. You should have no mpg gains driving highway because of etorque. That helps for stop and go. I don’t have my truck yet but 15 mpg for a big v8 truck sounds like real world to me. I don’t know how you drive. Maybe a bed cover could help that with a lot of highway driving? A poster suggested Ram is working on a fix for the HK stereo issues. The AC issues are the common thing they dont seem to have acknowledged yet. I hope some of this stuff gets worked out for you soon so it is just not a whole heap of misery.

Your truck must be a mid summer build since you have the ET and Rambox. Could you add the build date to your signature. A couple of your issues seemed to be more prevalent on early builds, such as the water leak. I really do hope the issues are resolved with minimal added heartburn.

I don't have a 5th Gen, but my 2017 5.7L easily gets 23 mpg highway, 20 combined.

My 19 gets that as well.
Think OP is the second poster recently who has gotten poor mileage doing quite a bit of highway with an etorque engine. Probably just coincidence.

They haven’t been fixed yet. I had been waiting on the parts to come in for the clunk noise which are now in and the truck is going back to the dealership on Friday.

I believe the sunroof leak allowed water to soak the rear carpet. I have been trying to go back through some posts to see if any were the front drivers side like mine. The bedcover is on my list to add but I have decided I am not dropping any money into it until the issues are resolved. The low MPG is based off what was normal in my 14 Sport. 15 is if I’m focusing on the MPG. Normally it is around 13.5.

13.5 seems below expectations. I hope these issues get fixed for you. Mine is sitting in the quality assurance parking lot right now. I hope it makes its way inside for a long time.

I have had three v8 trucks in the last 20 years. Mpg like that would have amazed me. Maybe all this new tech and lightweight materials really do work.

Start documenting everything. Make sure you keep service tickets and make sure the dealer is explicit in the details of your service visits on those tickets. Check your state’s Lemon Law requirements. I am currently seeking lemon law resolution on my truck if you want to chat about it, PM me.

Front leak was a welding issue in the wheel well area iirc. I'd search and postcard link but I'm on my phone only for a few days. Good luck!

I've had the same wobble/shake/bounce issue since I drove my truck off the lot a couple of days ago. I've got the laramie quad cab. Thought I was being picky too. Have owned 5 tundras before this and am hoping this isn't the beginning of more problems! Were they able to fix or diagnose this problem? Thanks man

Nothing yet. Truck goes back in tomorrow morning and it will be the third time trying to get it resolved.
