I checked my window sticker and it wasn't listed on there as a option even though I have almost every option except Ram Boxes and MFT. I then looked up my build sheet online and it is listed on there under standard equipment so I guess I will be calling dealer to get it sorted out

BTW, all of you guys that don't have this feature, when you open the TG, your bed lights turns on?? if so, you have the sensor, you just don't see its input in the EVIC.

Dang how did you purchase it in November 2020. That hasn't happened yet. :ROFLMAO:

My 2019 Rebel has the warning and the chime. Don't think it had the little one warning light in the corner though, will have to check.

Just confirmed my bed lights do not come on when the tailgate is opened.
They come on with the door opening, switch in cab, unlocking truck, and switch in OEM bed lights.
Guess I'm okay with that.

No, my bed lights do NOT come on automatically when the tailgate is opened. This feature IS listed on my sticker. Are you saying they forgot to add the sensor in the latch at the factory? I have never seen it in the EVIC, and have driven off with it opened before. Luckily my wife was not far behind and she called to tell me it was open.

What i think happened is someone dropped the ball when they worked on the FCA vehicle config database, they've just removed sales code LAN from it and now they're trying to figure out how to fix that... some people had it and they lost it after a trip to dealerland... weird...

That sucks!
I wonder if AlphaOBD can change that... maybe can be enabled within its features...

Thanks a million Dookie. I’m not wasting a day bringing my truck to dealership without an official fix . Just a waste of money and time . God knows how long this is going to be with what’s going in the world today . This in my opinion is law suit waiting to happen for FCDJ if they don’t officially announce this as a recall . People are going to make mistakes a ****s going to fly out and hit other cars . hope we hear something soon .

I agree as well, I for one saw this listed on my sticker when purchased and knew my last Ram didn't have that and had left it open several times on accident (age is catching up with me) when busy loading stuff on trips. So when I saw it on my sticker, I was happy it had this feature and was somewhat dependant on it warning me (helping me remember). When I was called by my wife that my tailgate was open while going down the road, we had just cleaned out and reorganized my garage, I had backed the truck up and began to load stuff to bring to the dumpster at work and the truck bed was full of some heavyish crap, and if some of that crap came out at highway speed, it could have severely damaged someone's vehicle or killed someone. Now I'm back to triple checking myself after loading up...first world problem, but still a problem.

Not too hopeful it will be soon, the Star case is dated 11/15/19, so they have had plenty of time to fix this, probably take a lawsuit to speed up the process.
