NO TAILGATE AJAR WARNING ?? 2020 ram rebel

i was thinking about the same issue. Went fishing and also drove with tailgate down. No warning. Friday going to dealer

Ive had my 2020 Rebel for about 3 months and Love it but I accidently drove home with my tailgate wide open . I find it hard to believe that a $65,000 truck doesn’t even have a tailgate ajar warning lite ? I could have killed sombody with stuff falling out the back . I’m asking if it’s is normal or should I bring it in to dealer ? I have the Rebel 12 level 2 package .

My 2019 bighorn tells me if mines open.

My 2020 rebel with level 2 does not warn for an open tailgate.
My window sticker doesn't have it listed either though...
It's weird what features get added and dropped between trims....( Vented seats, front camera on the off-road trim, and now tailgate warning). Rebel is still worth it

I have a warning, in fact when I first got the truck it would say the tailgate was open if you did not slam it shut. The sensor must have seated itself because I don't have that false warning anymore.

Yes. If you look at my window sticker you will see that it does say i have this feature right before the "OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT".
Sales code is LAN for this feature.

Correct, In the Right hand side TG latch.

Yes, the "Tailgate–Ajar Warning Lamp" can be anywhere in the list, so even if it's not in the base options, keep looking down the list.

Can someone take a picture of the suspected hardware/ senor that would be responsible to create this warning. I want to see if I physically have the hardware needed before asking a dealership to troubleshoot software.
