My Laramie is just 3 weeks young and I noticed after a week or so that the stitching in the driver seat is coming loose. I'll definitely be contacting the dealership about this, but wanted to see if anyone else has seen this problem?

My dealer told me a few weeks ago they have had some trucks come in with this problem.

Let us know how this turns out and your experience with the dealer.

I'll be taking it in after work one day this week and they want to keep it for a day but won't offer me a loaner... <sigh>
Warranty work should include loaner/rental vehicle. I used to have a Ford F150 and every single time I went in for anything at all, they gave me a loaner at no cost to me.

My service dealer always gives me a loaner.

It depends, jfornelli. Loaners are handled at the dealer level and they are provided to customers within warranty if one is available on the lot. In other cases, if you obtain a rental vehicle and pay out of pocket, we can explore options of reimbursement. If this is the route you end up taking, send me a direct message with the receipt, VIN, dealer name, and contact information.

Just heard back from local dealer that Chrysler does not consider this a warrantable item for fixing. So, my (now) 5 week old $66k truck has a problem that will continue to get worse because Chrysler isn't standing behind their product....
<sarcasm>Hell, it's only cosmetic, right? </sarcasm>

Not sure I would agree with that assessment. If they can point to excessive/abusive wear and tear I would understand. But a truck that’s 5 weeks old and the seats look untouched otherwise, should not have the stitching coming loose. I think you should reach out again to @RamCares and ask that it be escalated. Pulling the seat cushion off and restitching or just replacing shouldn’t be a big deal. Not a big ticket item for them.

I was on the lot today discussing getting a 2500 and the three Limiteds they had all had stitching coming loose. Sales guy says it’s from people jumping in and out of them so often.

I have about 705 miles on the truck now, and I first noticed the stitching in the 2nd week of ownership, so I know that's not the reason in my case.

B.S....this shouldn't happen period regardless of what excuse they provide.

Then you need to go to another dealer or get @RamCares involved...that is just a lazy dealer that doesn't want to deal with a simple problem nor understands the term "customer service"! If they have to order you a new seat...then they should order you a new seat...PERIOD!

I agree, but the gal I spoke with (who gets very defensive and is NOT a good customer service representative by any means) said it is Chrysler that made the decision, not the dealership. She suggested I contact the selling dealership (though I'm not sure how they could get it fixed if Chrysler is denying it).

I still call B.S. and don't think they are being honest with you...just my opinion.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I bought it elsewhere? ...or that they wouldn't be reimbursed for the work? I don't know, but it is a bunch of crap!

Warranty is warranty...any dealer anywhere in the US can perform the work and get paid for it. The purchasing dealer has nothing to do with it.
