That's what I ran into as well. In order to get more depth, you have to go outside factory storage system. Depth on the box I built is 4.6" with .75" mdf. I thought about running the power underneath as well, but had to run the turn on and rcas so it ended up being less work to run in the cab. Did you protect the power cable with anything (conduit)?

I'd love to hear that setup. I'm sure it pounds.

right around 5.75" the inside bottom is routered out about 3/8" for sub motor

Was struggling on where to find a good place to mount the bass volume knob from the Amppro. Ended up finding this spot and works great. See picture. Easy access too. That is just a panel that pops off and there's plenty of space behind it for the knob body.

I've read that popping up the side floor panels in order to run the positive power cable in cab is pretty simple on the 2019s. How do those pop up?

The trim panels just pop up. Piece of cake. There are channels underneath for wiring that you can open up and lay the power cable inside. Feed the cables through to the back doors and repeat.

The panels come off by hand. Just go slow and get the feel for it.

If you look under the steering column there are two factory grommets. I used the one to the upper left. Made a slit in the engine side, pushed a wire through, went to the cab and saw where the wire was trying to push through the other side of the grommet (it has two layers), made another slit, then pushed the wire through. At that point just tape the power cable to the wire and pull it through.

NEVER use a screw driver to remove anything other than a screw and a paint can lid. A great way to damage panels. As others said, you can pry up with hands.

Does anyone know what is under the center grille, on the dash? I have the 6 speaker system in my Big Horn? Folks with the alpine system, posted pics with an Alpine Badge on it, making me think they have a speaker in there.... just curious if I can install an additional speaker in there With my 6 speaker system

I searched interwebs door an hour. Only found one place but that was $$$$ custom stuff. I'll likely resort to building my own. $10 in mdf isn't a big price. Although the time might be a fair amount.

My biggest question is do I do a 10" sub or 12". I can get about .6cf in the space I'm looking at. The 12" shallow Mount from infinity said ideal is .75 cf. Thanks 10" shallow is .50 cf. I'd prefer a 12", but to small a box can negate the size increase pretty quick.

I've used a place called Foxbox on my 2016 Ram they sold a 12" single sub for this year. They do have a dual 12" sub box that goes under the seat but I've modified mine to work in 2019 ram.

Just a quick update. The JL 10tw sounds and fits perfect in this set up. I had to remove the hook on the underside of the seat, but that's no big deal.

In terms of sound, I'm still dialing things in but what a difference. I unhooked the factory sub because I couldn't get the two to work together. The factory sub is overbearing at certain frequencies and completely lacking at others. The JL is much more linear and gets down to the 30-50 hz range much better. The Amppro is still affected by the factory EQ so I was surprised that I needed to adjust the bass setting up. -2 was where I settled after a few minutes fiddling.

The sub is still breaking in so it's not the final settings but overall I'm dang glad I made this change. Completely changes the factory system.

Ended up using polyfill in the box. I didn't think it would make much difference but it was actually appreciable. (My wife and daughter who could care less confirmed.). Louder and deeper.

After getting the gain adjusted correctly (50%) and bass boost (+2) I'm quite pleased. No clipping up to 75% of max vol and that's way higher than I'll listen to the stereo at. If anyone is considering upgrading the sub, I can say I wholeheartedly feel it was worth it.

How much polyfill did your box require? I'm putting in a similar looking box except that it extends to under the passenger seat as well (will have two ten inch subs in it).

Also wondering where folks are putting their amps? I'm still exploring that (just got the sub box yesterday).

I didn't measure it but about a 1/3 of a bag from Michael's. I've thought about adding a second sub as well. I'm interested to hear your experience. Did you replace the other speakers as well? What system are you running?

I went with Pioneer TS-SW2502S4 subs (saw some good professional reviews on these, and they had dropped to $60 at Walmart.com with free shipping last week---they went back up now though) and a Pioneer GM-D8601 amp.

No, I haven't replaced any of the speakers because after the TSB update done by the dealer, I'm pretty darn happy with the sound I'm getting. Just wanted more bass so am adding the dual 10 set up.

I looked at the ultimax and it would be a good option but the volume requirements were tight. I wanted to keep the factory organization system in place so my volume was under .50 cf. By doing so it also maintains easy access to the storage bins. Love your box set up. Looks very clean. I'm likely going to end up carpeting mine because the paint finish just isn't doing it for me. Lesson learned.

Played a variety of music this a.m on the way to work (EDM, Lorde, John Mayer,. etc) and across the board it's a massive improvement. I found myself enjoying the music instead of frowning. I brought the bass EQ up to 0 on the factory dash. Amp gain at about 1/2. Boost at +4. Crossover at 110hz. Amppro volume adj knob at about 50%. At those levels it takes just a slight fine tuning depending on the song. The factory 6x9 door speakers do ok but they could benefit from a slightly higher crossover. Not bad though. Surround option on the factory settings is much better with this set up. I'll have to toggle between the two more to see which I actually prefer, but I found it improved vs the original set up.

A 12" or dual 10" would definitely give more punch, but overall I'm not looking to shake things to pieces. Just want more musicality, and in that regards I'm 95% satisfied.

The Amppro allows some tweaking by connectioning a computer. I haven't played with that but will this weekend. Might be able to dial in the bass a bit more. I also wouldn't mind trying some polyfill in the box. I don't expect drastic changes there but would be interesting to see if it helps the lower range of frequencies (20-50hz). I'll probably do that when I carpet the thing.

In terms of install, this truck is a breeze to work on. Panels come off and go on easily. Carpet and linings are easy to lift up. The 12" dash unit came out way easier than I thought! If you're installing the Amppro and have 12" screen, you'll also have to remove the silver/grey amp/electronics box behind the dash to plug in the harness. 4 screws and it pulls right off. You can then push the wiring and box down through a small crevace to the bottom left towards the driver floorboard area. At that point, you'll be able reach up and grab it from underneath.

I ran the amp power along the driver side and accessed the firewall through the factory grommet. Note... You'll have to make slits in the grommet on both sides. It's multi layered. Piecee of cake pull after that. I opened up the wire access channels under the door sills and pulled to the rear and ran behind the back seat. Do yourself a favor and pull 12v turn on lead at the same time. I just taped it to the power cable. You'll branch it off before the firewall though and run it under the driver footwell carpet to where Amppro will sit. I ran the RCAs down passenger side. 16ft-18ft length will do it. I used 18ft JL cables which are Overkill, but just wanted to do it once.

A couple other notes:

I used Noico (dynamat) on the doors and back wall behind the seat. I also hung a layer of MLV on the back wall and laid pieces under the front driver and passenger footwell carpet. This brought down road and wind noise further and the cab is now very quiet. I can hear the Falken tires a bit but not a big deal.

Another Gem while perusing the instructions for the Remote Start Accessory! Ram gave us an open grommet location behind the battery on the firewall to pull at least one wire through the factory grommet:

Look up under the Foot well. It's way to the left and there is a whole stack of wires that run through it.

The picture shows it coming through. It's easiest to cut a slit on the engine bay side, push a stiff wire through until it hits the 2nd later of rubber, go back to the foot well side, make another slit where the wire is and then push the wire through.

Tape the power cable to the wire and pull it back. It helps to use some silicone lube on the cable since it's rubber on rubber.

Not all 10's are created equal! These Pioneers are oversized compared to most. As you can see, I also put polyfill in. Got a 1 lb bag at Michael's for $6 less coupon. Used about 2/3 of the bag per what I read on the web (various respected sites) on how much to use depending on box size. These Pioneer subs got really good reviews on several sites I respect, and the price dropped to $60 each for a while so I snagged them. I didn't get to mounting the amp yet. Couldn't find a way through the firewall for the power cable. So as the afternoon wound down, I decided to pull the wire from the factory sub behind the rear seat and run a cable from there to these new subs. OMG! I could probably live with it as is! I was testing things in the garage and the wife came out almost immediately thinking I had hooked up the amp! No dear, that will be tomorrow's project!

Ran through a variety of music with this initial setup tonight. Wow! If I hadn't already bought the amp, I might just run it like this. For me personally, I'm probably going to enjoy the add on amp but many people would probably be happy just bypassing the factory sub and going with dual tens.

One last comment. I did test the sound with only one sub hooked up. Just okay I thought. When I connected the second, things came alive! Again, just using the factory amp. Once I get the external amp connected, I'll test one sub versus the duals again and see what I think.

Couple questions on this....you said you ran from the factory sub, i'm assuming you disconnected the factory sub and used those wires as a feed to your subs? Secondly, what ohm are the subs your using? I wonder...just wonder...if this setup you're doing (for the moment) is too much on the factory amp? Just things I am thinking of...lol
