I just passed 53,000 on my E-torque and I’m pretty happy with it, I only shut it off when I know I’ll be stopped for a very short time. I like how snappy it is on restart especially with the flow-master exhaust.
2 trucks at a stop light.
One has his engine off with start-stop and the other is idle.
The one with start-stop is left in the dust as he chirps his tires after the other truck has already gone.
Yeahhhh that happened to me once and was an embarrassment, ever since then I just ease a little bit of pressure off the brake right before the light changes to get the engine goin again.2 trucks at a stop light.

The auto start-stop works great in my 2022 Ram.
Auto start-stop as a feature is god damn terrible for me.
It depends in what part of the country you are in and exactly where you drive if you don't have stop lights where you sit for 3 minutes before moving its a waste of a system.
Anyone who says the truck is ready when you are going to give it gas it's just not true. If you drive slow its a fine system, but if you expect to go right when you change over you're wrong. You would never use start-stop when you are stopped trying to take a right or a left hand turn in between traffic, you would get hit pulling out.
Also if you put a nice exhaust on your truck you will sound stupid as it sounds like a cold start whenever it resumes.
But that all said, I feel like it's the best start-stop feature from any manufacturer I've driven.
Exactly my experience too.I've not experienced that and I make right and left hand turns with auto stop/start engaged daily. Never once felt like there was a risk making a turn
Wrong. With auto stsrt/stop, the engine is back running before my foot is completely off the brake.2 trucks at a stop light.

That is my big negative as well. While there are a few positives to the way the system performs, I would prefer not to have the ET. IMO there is just not enough benefit to justify the added weight and system complexity. It is a system that does what it does fine, it just really isn't needed. To be honest, the biggest complaint I have with the system (and I'll bet I'm not alone in this) is that it just doesn't add very much fuel economy. It's implemented well, but it was a whole lot of engineering work for <1 mpg advantage (based on real-world Fuelly averages).
You have slow feet.Wrong. With auto stsrt/stop, the engine is back running before my foot is completely off the brake.
The system is designed that when there's a change in brake pedal pressure, the engine restarts and that restart is instant
...when I let off the throttle, it seems to "drag" and buck. Not a smooth coast like the 2019. Other than that, I do not see an advantage/disadvantage with the ET system. Well, except for the stupid start/stop that will be taken care of once I get a Tazer. lol
I agree here. I had it in a "Jeep" (sorry, new jeeps aren't real jeeps) and while it worked well, I just felt it was unnecessary because I didn't see a fuel savings. I opted not to get it in my Ram for this very reason. To be honest, the biggest complaint I have with the system (and I'll bet I'm not alone in this) is that it just doesn't add very much fuel economy. It's implemented well, but it was a whole lot of engineering work for <1 mpg advantage (based on real-world Fuelly averages).
Lol sorry nope, drag raced for the last 20 years. You have slow feet.
Perhaps it's just me, but going from a 2019 Laramie no ET, to my new 2022 Laramie with ET, the new one seems herky-jerky. For example, when I let off the throttle, it seems to "drag" and buck. Not a smooth coast like the 2019. Other than that, I do not see an advantage/disadvantage with the ET system. Well, except for the stupid start/stop that will be taken care of once I get a Tazer. lol
Yep I do. I have 3.92s like a real man.Lol sorry nope, drag raced for the last 20 years.
My truck simply doesn't respond that way, can I make it replicate your described condition? Yes but that's not my normal mode of driving.
To replicate your condition, if have side step the brake (like you would speed shifting a manual trans car) rather than release it and hit the accelerator.
I suspect you get poor fuel mileage as well
