Wheel Spacers

Well finally got the fronts done. We are still on "stay at home orders" so everything needs to be ordered from stores and wait for a pickup time. My store is behind in orders so I had to wait 4 days for pickup, I was missing an lug nut when the ordered arrived from BORA which is why I had to order from local store.

Anyhow without further ado...

I got my ridge grapplers on today 285 65 20 (34.80x11.50), glad I cut that bracket off behind the small mudflap . With the 2” Bora’s all around I got only slight rub on the front small mudflap drivers side . I will heat it up again and mold it back

Yes the bracket definitely needs to be cut for the 2" spacers work with bigger tires. If I hadn't cut them a few weeks ago these would be rubbing and probably worst hitting the metal bracket.

I don't have any rub as of yet, I have not driven it yet. I think they may rub near the front, but not by much. The rear where the bracket was is fine. On both parts I may end up heating the plastic and pushing it back but I'll see once I drive it around for a bit.

I ended up with the look I wanted for the most part. I did want front and back track to be equal but since the flares are wider at the rear I had to have 2" and 2.5" which look great with the flares. I don't mind the rear track being wider then the front, but wider front then back I didn't like.
 
Alright folks I have read just about every post on this 23 page thread. I have been entertained and learned a great deal. I have narrowed my sights on which brand(s) I am going to purchase. I have a 2020 Big Horn with no fender flares and plan on going with a 1.5" spacer. My question is, to achieve the same amount of tire protruding from the fender well horizontally can I use the same size spacer all around? I feel like someone mentioned that they went with two different sizes, one for the front and another for the rear. Any info would be helpful. Thanks y'all.

Yes, Behind the front wheel mud flap there is a bracket that the push in fastener goes through the mud flap and the wheel liner and into that bracket. I cut my bracket off and primed and and painted where bare metal is exposed . I put my mud flaps back on . Mud flap held on by 2 hidden white clips, black push in fastener and 1 fender screw. If you take out the push in fastener and fender screw you can just pull the mud flap off those white clips

If you want the track to be the same all around you'll need 2 difference sizes as long as your vehicle isn't lifted. As a stock truck the front has a wider track then the rear by 1/2" total (1/4" on each side)

So if you want track to be the same, you'd need to get a 1.5" for front and 1.75" for the rear. Most people are going 1.5" rear and 2" back.

Yes I had to cut the bracket on the front, it's the bracket that holds the fender liner with the "christmas tree" style push pin. I cut it and then zip tied the portion back. It was a requirement for me because of the 35" tires and 2" wheel spacers. I did test fit 1.5" spacers and I don't think I would have had to cut the bracket as it cleared but was close.

Note: the 1st picture is with the 1.5" spacers so as you can see my tires were close prior to bracket removal.

Did the exact same cutting as BlueStreak (35” tires, 3.5” lift, and 1.5”wheel spacers all around). Track/Protrusion looks the same on all four (both axles). Perhaps because of the lift. I wouldn’t mind going 2” spacers all around for wider looking stance, but once I installed the 1.5” and got the stance with no rubbing I wanted I was done...The cutting/trimming can get a little exhausting. Now just enjoying driving my smooth driving lifted BEAST 😂😎.

Your protrusion/track should be the same or close to all around with having the same spacers all around. When I put the 1.5" test spacers on (checking for fitment before I ordered the bigger spacers) my track was the same all around. With having the lift it sucks the front tires in because of the IFS, I have about the same amount of lift as you and my fronts sucked in 1/2" which was the difference between factory front and rear track measurement.

I like a little protrusion/track but my ultimate goal was to be flush with my flares which is exactly what I got with the 2"/2.5" spacers. The protrusion looks good but I would worry about my paint with rocks and stuff always coming off the tires. The other issue is around my area (reading Facebook groups) guys have been getting pulled over and ticketed because the tires are exposed beyond the fenders.

Had to make a minor adjustment on the front fender. At full lock in reverse the knobs on the tires were hitting the driver side front liner. Passenger side is fine.

Tried to heat and reshape but it just bounced back to almost the same shape. So I put a hole in the center of the liner and used zip ties to pull it back. It works and that's all that matters.

No where to zip tie easy so I had to use one zip tie around a bracket for the bumper and then another zip tie from the fender hole to the other zip tie.

Hey guys. Need some advice. Have a 19 rebel air suspension. Installed daystar blocks w/ revel links, 35X11.5 tires (nitto trail grapplers) on stock wheels. Next on the list is wheel spacers but I'm not sure what size i should go with. Don't what the tires sticky too far outside the fender and don't really want to mess around with cutting the molding / mudflaps if avoid. Any suggestions on size and brands to look at/avoid would be appreciated. Thxs

As long as the spacers are hub centric they should be ok. As for size, most get away with 1.5” with minimal or no trimming on the front and 1.75” on the rear to get the same track width front/rear and this puts most tread blocks even with the flares with bulging sidewalls extending beyond the flares slightly. Great look.
