Thanks for the recommendation. I bought a gallon of 303 for my tonneau and plastic parts and I also have Extang Tono Tonic which is supposed to be the same thing so I have plenty. Very happy with the clean, matte look.

That is one sick looking Ram! Can you tell me a little more about your setup? Wheel size and offset, tire size, suspension mods etc!

wheels: 22x10 4Play 4P80
tires: 33x12.5 Nitto Grappler
stock suspension, minor rub on full turn

I am planning on putting a leveling kit soon.

I used CarPro Perl a go today for the first time. Great first impression. Now to see how long it lasts. And I'm definitely looking into better applicators for these knobby tires. Takes some work.

You know...I find it funny when folks take pics of their glossed tires. Even if you use a $1 bottle of "stuff" it will always look great and shiny in a pic. What's relevant is what it's made of and how long it will last. I have been detailing cars for over 40 years and have tried just about everything. What I found is that SLICK, by Hydrosilex, goes on easy...no splatter...won't stain your driveway like make of these chemicals do and lasts for about 2-3 months. The link to it is in post #26.

I use the dense foam applicators from Chemical Guys...they hold up very well, don't tear and handle the bigger knobby tires with ease. They are like $4-$5 each. I am confident that if you don't want to order SLICK, as long as you stick to a high quality brand from Groits, Chemical guys and Autogeek you will probably be ok. I have found the stuff at the local auto parts store is crap and doesn't last.

You can also use a detail brush to help work the dressing in and around the knobby tires. Works rather well just have to have it dedicated to dressings. Use the foam or block applicator for the rest of the tire.

The foam block applicators actually work very well. I can easily get a year out out one if not longer ad it gets used a TON.

Been using Megs for years mixed 4:1, and still have a ton of it, but recently tried 303 tire balm and its pretty good. I’ll reserve judgement until I have more time on it and see how it performs (never been disappointed by 303 products). The megs is very thin and doesn’t last more than a few days but that’s fine. Rest of the truck gets dirty anyways.

I have used Armor-all, No Touch, Turtle Wax Tire Shine, Meguir's Hotshine, Black Magic, and Lucas Slick Mist; they all seem to brown the tires. I just recently put 303 Aerospace Protectant on my tires to see how it works. So far I like the 303 because it gives the tire a very deep black matte color with no shine or slinging. Only time will tell if the 303 is a winner....looks good for now.

I'll know how well this Perl will hold up after the rain today. Less than 24hrs on the tires before rain. Always a good test.

Agree on the browning...that really $ucks when that happens. The SLICK have never browned...just fades to a nice deep matt finish over time.

to do a fair assessment on this, you guys really gotta make sure your tires are actually clean too. and not just "washed" with your regular car wash stuff that you use. you should be using an effective tire cleaner before you apply the tire shine product so that the product actually bonds with the rubber. You wont be getting nearly as much life out of the tire shine if your tires are dirty

100% correct...I clean my tires with a special tire cleaner (not wheel cleaner but tire cleaner) to get all of the crap off and even the residue from the last shine so I am down to bare rubber.
