Installed the Amp PowerStep Smart Series on my truck. Would have gone faster, but the motors were wired backwards from the manufacturer. So open doors meant steps up, and closed doors meant steps down. I thought I had messed something up, but it’s not possible, as all the harness plugs are directional.
Either way, a little snip-snip and everything works great now.

Power from the battery terminals, and signal from the OBD II port. I’m not a big fan of having a permanent plug at the OBD II, but it is what it is I guess. At least my wife and daughter will have one less thing to complain about now (getting up into a TRX without steps is a bit of a climb).

I’m sorry to post this here & you guys as admin‘s can delete this after the fact but I need a quick answer and this seems to be the most popular thread. Getting an oil change and tire rotation right now on my wife’s 20 Durango and they snapped a stud that the Lugnuts attach to. Wanting to charge $172 to replace the stud $125 for the stud itself plus the half hour labor and said it’s not covered under warranty. Are the studs considered a wearable item then? I plan on pushing back on the service manager but haven’t got to that point yet. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Dealer says studs are considered wearable item per warranty contract. I used to do my own service but simply don’t have the time anymore so been using dealer & also easier to keep records this way. Feeling like I’ll figure out how to make time to start doing sh*t myself again. I already know what likely happened - they broke the lugs free with the impact or torqued them back on instead of breaking or tightening by hand.

$125 for a stud you can get for $15 from the dealer? They have got to be insane to think they can charge people for their screw up. I refuse to take anything to the dealer unless it is absolutely necessary. Rip off artists

I don't think there are any fixed running boards that go out as far as the Mopar power running boards. The Mopar Power Running Boards have a 600lb capacity and feel very sturdy to me, even with two guys on one side.

I've been on this board a little longer than you and I've haven't seen very many reports of failures.

Talked to my buddy at the dealership about correcting the speedo. $200, which is the friends discount. No thanks. Guess I'll be going down the diy software rabbit hole. All in all, rides decent and aren't as loud as most m/t tires I've had before. Still noticeable, but not terrible. Haven't towed anything yet, but excited to see how that works out. Would have gotten more pictures, but promptly had to put a shift in at the ol man's over the weekend. He wanted an ash taken down, and I needed firewood for the garage. Win-win.

I did a little splitting of would I’ve had in the stack for years this weekend. But I rented a tow behind splittah. Very nice and my back thanked me… but only a little bit hahah.

Funny tho, unless I hit the camera button I didn’t even know if it was still back there.

Did get to finally try a “Swedish torch” for Halloween tho.

Not super hard. Just grab a relatively str8 cut big piece and trim it so it’ll stand up. I think that one was a around 14”. Then you just cut it 4x like 80% of the way down. They say you then put kindling down the middle but I gave it a spritz with some charcoal fluid haha. But then it just burns out the middle for a pretty good while.

Problems with power running boards

Bought a new 3500 Laramie and the drivers side running board is having difficulties immediately after delivery. It sometimes doesn’t deploy and often when it retracts it stops and redeploys. The display reports a possible obstruction but that’s not an issue. Dealer had it for a week and they...
