Did an oil change this weekend, so much fun...lol. I did use the bag method and it helped with the mess.

Due to time and space constraints, I did not jack the truck up to do the oil change and well it was kinda funny to see myself trying to squeeze my fat body underneath I also would have made less of a mess as well.

I pick up my truck 1/21 from dealer after it sat on a train for 2 week before being delivered to the dealer . It had not rain hear before being deliver to dealer, nor has it been any rain since dealer received or I have owned it. The white stuff wipes offs , painted surfaces, anything made aluminum even the engine block has this crusty stuff on it.

In a MRI there is chiller basically a air conditioner to keep the components cold. The helium is minus 400 Celsius that is to keep the windings inside the magnet cold (650amps), but the gradients and the equipment cabinets need to be kept cold too. As they get older they get leaks and condensation builds up on the pipes, so I fold exposed film to direct the water to a drain. So I did the same when draining the oil to get over the crossbar and into the pan without a mess.

Not salty taste like table salt. but I'm not from the north where I deal with them salting the roads, parking lots. etc. hell mine can't be the only truck they drove in the snow/ice anyone get new truck in the window time with that issue?

Finally installed my Timber Grove ASAM bags. Install went pretty smooth. 5psi rides like pre install. Set up the fill valve at the license plate.
Went offroading at Wildomar OHV and bags held up great, no issues with articulation or pressure loss. Picking up the trailer to adjust the hitch in a week or so and will report back with how it rides towing.
Also picked up a smittybuilt portable compressor. Stoked I don’t have to keep going back to the gas station to air up after every offroad adventure haha

Coming from someone that lives in the salt belt it def does look like dried up salt. It could also be some sort of limestone dust or something. I'm sure a truck hauler moved it at some point and it may have driven on some wet salty roads along the way and it splashed on it. One quick undercoat wash and ta da, it will be gone. Enjoy the new truck!

Yep. Definitely looks like the delivery truck drove on a salty road.

It was probably on a car hauler up north during a snow storm.

Not always salt. They spray a bunch of other white crap on the roads. But happy they didn’t wash the truck and scratch it all up in their wash bay

I agree with others. Looks like salt. And a lot of it. I would give it a taste test. Wonder if the train was transporting salt too.

My water softener in my house. Once drain on the floor. And everything in the area metal. Looks just like that till I cleaned it up.

it wipes off the painted surfaces and do a lesser degree the aluminum fairly easy.

I agree with what the others are saying... these trucks are coming from Michigan in the winter... so whether they're driven a bit, loaded and then railroaded or put on a car carrier,they're definitely getting exposed to northern style snow and ice control. that looks like salt or even the sodium formate/potassium acetate that we use up here in some spots in Boston where salt cannot be used. i would take it to a good car wash you trust that gives the under-carriage a good washing. but how ever you choose to do it, i would get that stuff off sooner rather than later. i agree the dealer should have done that. but i def wouldn't wait.

I have pressure washer , my plan is tomorrow to get under and do it my self. I just detailed the truck my self and since it's been raining here in Houston last couple days, I couldn't do it yet. Thanks for the information
