What did you do to your Ram today???

After getting a $368 ticket for having my cell phone in my hand at a red light I decided to get a magnetic mount to hold my phone.
I found this one from Course Motorsports. Installed it today. Took 15 minutes. Works like a charm! $45. Well spent! Clips behind the radio bezel. Still clear of the vent as well as start/stop button. Non charging but I don’t have a problem plugging it in before I put it on the holder if needed.

Heres a link for those that may be interested:

How does that mount is it adhesive tape??

No. It mounts from behind the radio bezel. You have to remove it. 2 screws.
Really easy install.
Here’s a link to the how to install.

I'm always curious why you guys use phone mounts. Do you not like using android auto or apple carplay? Or maybe you have the 8.4" screen? With the 12" I'm able to still use local radio/Sirius (even though I never do) on the bottom of the screen and have carplay(navigation, text, calls, whatever) on the top screen.

Really sleek solution though. I'd definitely consider it if I needed a mount. Was just curious about how you actually use it!

I like putting my phone where I can see it. With this mount and location, it’s within my field of vision and not sliding all over my center consul.
I just got a Carlinkit Wireless Apple CarPlay Adapter. Haven’t set it up yet.

It shuts off the coolant flow to the heater core. The system doesn't seem to shield from the heater cores heat or some of it leaks through.
Also, I believe, most systems have the heater core between the blower fan and the condenser. Blowing warm air through to the condenser seems a bit idiotic to me. Most vehicles have a regulator, I thought. The RAM does not have a regulator (that I know of). That ball valve is like a manual regulator, in a sense. You can turn the warm coolant, that goes through the heater core, off to get cooler AC. If I’m wrong, someone please correct me.

Yeah, I don't get the phone mount thing either. My phone clips into my Ram Charger and I interact with my phone through my 12" U Connect screen.

My truck has the 5 inch screen... so thats why I use a phone mount. Also because it's a wireless charger built in so my phone charges while I drive

Say you had a pedal commander or monster and use an old phone to communicate with it, instead of tying up your phone, This would be slick way to mount it and keep it out of the way.

Cleaning up the wheel wells yesterday with 303 and my thoughts were, "Can Mopar make them any thinner?".
No experience with other brands.
They are just a cover. Mine were installed from the factory but I'm sure the install was simple. I had a 2018 silverado I installed the husky liners on and they were so thick and really difficult to install with the wheels on. No difference in durability on the MOPARs vs the Huskies.

Went racing last night, got some nice sunset pics. Zero wind at track, despite nice temps, so cool downs took forever, so no good runs
Nice truck. I want to swap my 22s for those wheels...gotta find some takeoffs somewhere

At 385 miles on the odometer I swapped out the wholly inadequate factory Nexan Rodian tires for a set of Micheline Defender LTX M/S. This will be my fourth set of Michelin Defender LTX tires in my life and these ride just as smooth/quiet as my previous sets - with a heck of a lot better traction than the Nexans.

I picked them up at Discount Tire brand new for $591 out the door including tax with a another $30 off in the form of a rebate since I used my Discount Tire card. Final price is $561 which included in the deal was me giving them the junk Nexans. I felt that deal beat the heck out of me trying to sell a set of tires I wouldn't put on my worst enemies truck!
I've always had issues trying to sell slightly used tires because I always swap them out early on. Nobody wanted to take them, even for free!

I've wondered the same. My truck has the 8.4 inch screen. Right in front of the usb ports is a groove that hugs the phone nicely. I do use android auto by plugging into usb so it's a perfect position for that. I dont look at my phone much with that setup but i can see it if needed and it's in easy reach, and doesnt move at all. Maybe with the 12 inch screen the console below the screen is different?

For me, I utilize my OBDLink MX+ to monitor soot mass, regens, temps, etc., on my Ecodiesel and it's just safer to have those six readouts (see pic) at speedometer cluster level or a little higher. Looking down at the "grove that hugs the phone" takes my eyes off the road or at least out of my peripheral vision. Now, if I can figure out a way to get this to read out of my factory Head's Up Display then I'll be selling it cheap to the next guy who needs one...

Like I said. The charging pad sucks with the 12” screen so I use the 110v plug with a quick charger. I also find it awkward for placement as the phone tucks under the 12” radio bezel. Pain in the **** to grab. I use my phone a lot for my job.
I just got my Wireless Apple CarPlay dongle so the magnetic mount will work nicely in conjunction with that.
Everyone’s needs/wants are different. This works for me. And it may work for others. That’s why I shared it.

The heater core and evaporator are in parallel with a blend door directing the air flow.
If the blend door doesn't seal off you get a mix of hot and cold air, which means the discharge air temp is not as low as it could be.

I love the Ram Charger and the location in relation to my 12" screen. Wireless charging is always slower than a cord but that's the nature of the beast. I can always plug in if I need a quick charge. I've never owned a vehicle that had a designated spot for my smart phone and really appreciate Ram putting so much though into this feature.
