What did you do to your Ram today???

Agreed. Good for him - he shouldn’t be ashamed of doing well with his business.
Personally, I make it a point not to flaunt nice things when I go in for negotiations with developers. It would be pretty hard to cry “poor” while standing in front of a $90k truck.
It is a weird deal with expensive cars and contractors.. I do a lot of house flipping etc.. and for me it's a red flag is when the contractor comes over with a more expensive car than I have or he doesn't have a truck.
there is nothing wrong with it..but it makes you analyze the situation a little more closely.

What was the trick to remove the sticky stuff? Thanks
heat the body and adhesive with a heat gun till the metal is just barley uncomfortable hot, then slowly with a thumb roll it off, once its all off some rubbing alcohol and a old microfiber towel you rub off the rest then through that towel away since you cant get it out

Installed a Truxedo Sentry tonneau. Looks good, seems to seal up pretty tight. Got tired of air mattresses and stuff blowing out of my bed haha.

When you cut him a check, ask if you should write it to Chrysler Financial direct or if the guy from the last job already paid it off for him. It is brazen for a contractor to flaunt profits in the face of a customer or even emoyees for that matter.

What. So he has to hide his truck hahahaha. Hilarious.

It's the appearance of doing business. You will wear out a work truck in no time just in miles.if you want to make his payments so he can do that. More power to you.

Some contractors think homeowners are folks that need work done and should be charged a fair profit for their efforts. Some contractors think homeowners are total lacking that should be fleeced at any chance as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next one. Just depends on the contractor you hire.

Not really sure what thread simple questions belong in (maybe someone can help me out there), but I didn’t feel it was worth a brand new post for what is probably a dumb question.
What is this little light for? Or is it just the ambient night lighting?

Also, saw one of these in the wild the other day. Looks better on the road than on the lot.

Why do you care about him wearing out his TRX? It's his choice. Maybe his work truck was in the shop or one of his employees needed it or maybe he just enjoys driving his new toy.

My contractor pulled up to my house in his helicopter, well he hovered above it. Not once did I think I was paying him too much.

Oh, I don't care. I'm not the one he is fleecing.

If you hired a contractor that came over in his chopper to hover around and perhaps give a wave and you did not think anything of it huh? 😏 Please give me a shout next time you need some work. I accept cash, gold bullion and for a small premium I can deal in Bitcoin. We can meet at the marina when you are ready to make your down-payment on my yacht.

That’s ridiculous. You are willing to judge him on his vehicle versus the work. Some would look at that and say wow. Dude does such a good job he daily drive a Trx. So silly.

My clients all drive 100k+ trucks to he job site. Some use it to haul heavy equipment. Some do it because they can. Hahaha. People are so silly.

Yeah, this really makes no sense when you can option a Ram 1500 to 75k+.
A 2500 or 3500 from Ford, GM or Ram can easily pass $100k.
I'd base a decision for a contractor off his work, not what they drive.

FYI, this contractor was subbed by another contractor I hired. He did the job and a bunch of of other work for free. He used to work at Intel in Oregon and has tons of money. He just likes staying busy and helping people. I actually posted these same photos on the 5th gen FB page and it went so far off the rails I ended up nuking the entire post. People do make money in lots of ways cryptocurrencies, rental properties and so on. I never judge anyone for where they live or what they drive as you have no idea of their paths through life.

Installed sway bar and TRX hooks

I have my eye on those hooks as well. Rear to tow others, front to be towed. Who wants to pull someone out of a ditch in reverse?

I thought I read that installation is a bit tricky due to the spare tire??

Sway bar helps so much. I have it on the stiffest and I definitely notice a difference.

The install on the rear tow hooks were super easy. I didn’t have issues with my spare tire in the way

Installed the DeeZee tie downs. Would recommend. 250# limit each. Comes with OEM-style hex shaped nutserts and a great little ball bearing tool to set the nutserts. I used a small file and box cutter to remove the spray liner in the hex holes. Nutserts slid right in. Easy to do both in 15 min. 5mm allen wrench and 10mm box end wrench for the nutsert tool and 4mm allen wrench for the screws.

Don’t judge him by what he drives, judge him by his references, the bid he presented and how busy he is. If you do your due diligence, you’ll have checked his references and gotten more than one bid.
Your comments are old school thinking.
Today, it’s more “He’s driving a nice truck, so he must work hard and be successful enough to afford it”
In this day and age, most successful trades people today aren’t driving a 98’ rust bucket and are able to start a job the next day. Not to say that this can’t be true, or that the guy with the new truck isn’t drowning. Just that it’s not the norm.
