What did you do to your Ram today???

I pulled a shredded tire from the rear drivers side. Not even 1800 miles and I have to replace a tire.

It's been a good couple of weeks for the Ram. Stripped the factory tint off and added ceramic tint all around. Added the Retrax Pro XR bedcover and Weathertech mud flaps. Also installed the Lock'r Down console safe. Not a lot of space in there, but it fits some emergency cash and either my 365 or Micro9 with no problem. Super easy to do, it only took about 20 minutes. I'm not looking forward to going back to the office, because I won't have time to add new cool stuff to the truck. :D

Can you not hang file folders anymore with that safe?

Correct, folders will not work anymore with that safe. I have the factory one installed on mine, I love it as I had store my cash and glock, but it does take away a lot of space.

Damn, that back piece of the safe can't be taken out? Bummer that they can't be used in tandem

I'm confused (nothing new) I thought factory tint was actually colored/tinted glass rather than film.
I think that maybe the rear window is. The guy that did it said that he only had to strip the tint from the front doors, and that he could just tint over the rear doors and window.

I was spoiled in my 2018. I had a console vault and i could literally hang file folders in it. This one is low profile so that I can still slide the console back and forth.

My understanding is that you can install the taller one that gives you more room, but you lose the ability to slide the console forwards or backwards.

Install clear paint protection film at door sills. 10whp pre door

If the truck wasn’t black I would not worry to much about that. But damn. Every little things shows. My first black truck. It been Driving me nuts.

I like the clear ones vs the skateboard grip type I've seen posted here. The ratings for these on Amazon aren't very encouraging. What is your opinion on the quality, install, etc?

The TRX is a sweet looking truck, but I am not a fan of the Ram two tone paint schemes. Not sure why that's all they offer with the TRX.
It's supposedly offered in one monotone color - black. Which I guess is technically two-tone as well (black over black).

Personally, I like the two-tone (for the off-roading type trucks like TRX's and Rebels). It gives them a bit more of a "raised" look.

Took the family to the beach.. 4x4 beach with the truck makes it soo easy, can bring a ton of stuff for the kids and don’t have to lug it more than a few feet

Well, it is a film, actually. Ceramic tint (the one I have on the windshield, which is technically ceramic film, as there is no "tint" to it) has no dyes, metal, or carbons in it. It's constructed of microscopic ceramic particles, that block heat, and UV rays. It's installed just like regular tint, with an adhesive. Most states don't allow tinted windshields (other than the strip at the top)

It's not dark, I can't notice any difference as far as light vs dark, but the temp difference is significant.

The ceramic tint(film) that I had put on the windows is the same product, but it is dyed to the same tint level like any other tint.
Thanks for the explanation. I may have to explore this!

I introduced my Ram to a longhorn ram in the Badlands of SD 😂. Here for a Rally with my US Military Vets Brothers in Rapid City/Sturgis, SD. To satisfy this thread, I also added the DNA of about 500,000 bugs... Sounded like rain hitting the windshield! Love the picture with the Ram logo and the bighorn sheep in the background.

Thanks! the guy that I plan to do mine said he would tint over the back and rear glass to achieve "Limo" darkness. Front windows would be 35% to be legal in Georgia. He suggested 70% on windshield because it would help with heat, UV and glare at night. But illegal in Georgia.......still commentating it though.
