Ran into a few problems with my audio system build.
Good news is, I was able to use my Infinity Reference 6.5 components in the rear doors (they are running off the factory radio power). Got both those in, no problem (Custom bracket, sound deadening, fast rings, the whole 9 yards). They sound MUCH better than the factory base rear speakers, by far. See pics 1 and 2. The driver's front Infinity component mid bass driver is installed, with all the goodies (Sound deadening (more was added, at the bottom, after the pic), fast rings, etc.). See pics 3 and 4.
Bad news is, we had an issue with one of my front Infinity Reference 6x9 component mid bass drivers. It seems to be stuck in the negative, reverse polarity, position. Literally, sucked into the coil. I have never seen anything like this before. Actually, I have never even heard of anything like this before. See pics 5 and 6. My installer contacted Infinity for a replacement, under warranty (more waiting!!!). Also, the subwoofer isn't quite finished (very disappointed), yet. But, I would rather wait for the whole system to work properly.
So, I need the subwoofer enclosure finished/carpeted, a replacement Infinity mid bass driver for the passenger front (probably going to take forever), a DSP tune for the Kicker Key amp (front 2-way active, bi-amped), then, the sub can be tuned to the whole system. This is definitely more work than I thought it was going to be. Had a lot of issues with my Jeep GC, too. Absolute nightmare, that was.
