What did you do to your Ram today???

I put them inside the like stock swaybar as well... I might move them to the firmest setting to see if I can hit 60 in that corner without total carnage.

Quick update... I haven't had a chance to move it to the firmest setting, but at 55 mph in that corner, ESC kicks in so maybe 60 ain't such a good idea... ;)

How do you like it since you've had it on? Worth the money?

Well worth the $$$ IMHO.... Even though I had already installed the rear 2" drop springs and 1.5" wheels spacers (which improved handling substantially), the change to the Hellwig sway bar made a noticeable difference as well. It would have been interesting to see how just changing the sway bar would have been...

Very interested in getting this - might wait til next Friday to see if Black Friday brings any deals. Thanks for the input

Booked in for new front brake pads, I've had enough of the chirping from the bird that lives under the drivers fender. First mechanic insisted there was nothing wrong with the brakes, second one went for test drive with me and straight away said its the brakes. The lady in charge of the bookings couldn't apologise enough for the first mechanic being Mr Unhappy.

Also booked in for a full detail in a couple weeks, in the end I opted for Swissvax and will have it done again when necessary as I am still hesitant about the lifespan of ceramic coatings and what happens when they get scratches and swirl marks.

Broke down and am taking the easy way out. Buying a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers in oem fitment and pairing them with oem Laramie wheels to keep my wife smiling. Still have the Limited wheels / tires combo for sale and also will place the 18” Toyo Open Country Tire’s and wheel combo up for sale.

Next phase of modification complete. I got all the bronze wrapped with 55% tinted gloss vinyl to bring the bronze brightness down some, and reduce the clash with the body color. I also had the RAM emblems on the doors removed and had them put black in the recessed limited lettering in the door trim.

Next up,
  1. Powder coat the tow hooks either black like the wheels or color-matched with the tinted bronze. I don't want to leave them vinyl wrapped because they will get torn up if I actually hook anything to them.
  2. Brake calipers painted to match the tinted bronze
  3. Paint the chrome portions of the grille inserts gloss black
That's one tasty looking truck right there!!! I see the black lugs worked great - most people install black wheels but use the chrome lugs and it doesn't look right. Anyway, if Ram offered a truck that looks like that sales would go even further through the roof, way further. What a great show, aametzger! Very impressive.

Just some truck stuff:

Transporting full sheets of ply in the rain has never been easier (nor dryer!)

Thank you very much for the comment! It's definitely been a fun project. A few more things to finalize the look, and I think it will be done-ish for a while. Planning calipers, hooks, and grille for mid-December or after the new year depending on the availability of my powder coating company (they are moving buildings so they couldn't get me in right away)

Thanks again for the kind words! :)

Thanks for posting, do you have pics from farther away at a couple of angles, so I can see how they look on the truck as a whole? With my spacers and larger tires, I am getting a lot of dirt splashed up on the truck (yes I know, I created the problem) but am concerned how the mudflaps will affect the ascetic of my truck. thanks!
Washed the truck up this afternoon. Here are some shots for you. 0047B2E8-024C-4433-BF7B-749A8B17AD15.jpeg3065B083-BBB6-4973-895D-5F50C005228B.jpeg01947898-01BD-4450-AA19-9221D30B4249.jpeg

Finally got the Rebel leveled on 35s. No rubbing and drives really smooth.

For those who are curious about the sizes:

-Nitro Ridge Grappler 35x11.50r20
-XD137 FMJ 20x9 0 Offset
-Readylift leveling kit

I like how you have the red on the wheels which brings the red from the interior to the outside.

Today I got intimate with my brand new all black Dodge Ram. Now, I know what all you guys are thinking and I did consider it, but the only thing that got moist was the outside of the vehicle.

I put it through the car wash and then proceeded to towel it off, getting used to its curves, while also taking off all the small white pencil quality checks inside the door frames.

I then proceeded to shine up the tires and rims and drove around from house to house. showing on my buddies the new truck.

I finished transferring my gear I had taken out of my trade and also put on a screen protector for the 12” UConnect.

Not a bad day.

I am still hesitant about the lifespan of ceramic coatings and what happens when they get scratches and swirl marks.

Ceramic coatings are a semi permanent sacrificial layer of protection. With swirl marks and minor scratching the coating takes the hit instead of the clear coat. In 2-4 years when the vehicle needs defect removal the polishing takes off the coating along with the swirls with minimal clear coat of any being removed. Mechanical abrasion is the only way to remove a true coating, it cant be chemically stepped. Where as a wax (about 3 month durability) and a sealant (about 6 month durability) can be impacted harshly and eventually removed chemically (ie the harsh pretreatments used in automated washes).

But coatings can be finicky with water spots (the mineral etching) and with maintenance like using spray waxed that alter the hydrophobic and self cleaning properties.
