What did you do to your Ram today???

After over 3 weeks waiting at the dealer to get my blind spot detection fixed (Been broke from the day i bought it), I FINALLY got it back!

Washed, clayed and some light buffing to clean up a couple of very minor spots. Also applie some PPF on the front end. Had some difficulties with the large hood piece though.

Also put in LED bed and 3rd brake lights.

Finally got my new wheels and tires installed. Fuel Rebel in gray, 22x10” -13 offset. Tires are Hankook Dynapro AT2’s in 305/45r22.

I love the new look. They just stick out past the fender. The ride is definitely firmer but it was too soft anyway. I don’t notice any difference in road noise so these are quiet. They were $100 less per tire than the Nitto’s.

Previously I showed some Blue interior LED lighting, I replaced them with a TYPE S kit, it changes to whatever coloring you want with different settings, blinking strobe, ETC. I keep my settings on it to react to music and in Blue. Since I hard wired them into my fuse box, they turn on when you turn on the truck and off when the truck is off.

Came out excellent!! It poured rain on Wednesday and there’s not a single water spot. It literally repels water. I picked Silver because it was easy to maintain, but this is a whole other level.

I only did very minor paint correction on the hood as it looked like there must have been some bird crap at some point before I got it, but a quick polish and it came right out. The rest of the paint was great after clay barring so I left well enough alone.

Clay barring is very easy. Just use a spray bottle with a mixture of soap and water as a lubricant and slide it along the paint in grids. Keep it very lubricated, and it picks up TONS of contaminates. Even on a new truck with 400 miles there was a lot of buildup from just being outside at the dealer for a couple of months. I’m sure if you do a quick search on YouTube there’s tons of good videos explaining it far better than I can. I’ve been using clay bars for nearly 20 years now on various vehicles and I am still always amazed as just how smooth the paint feels afterwards once you get rid of the grit.

Is there any specific brand to use or anything? Also once the clay bar is done what do you do next? I have a black truck that has some minor swirl marks on it. Need to fix those too before coating. And then is there anything to be careful with when ceramic coating or does it just wipe on?

Can I ask why? I'm getting my coated next week, and everything I read is that you don't need to top coat the ceramic since any other sealant or wax would take away from the ceramic shine. thx
