What did you do to your Ram today???

Results of approximately 20 hours of detailing. Washed, clayed, polished, IPA wipe, panel wipe, Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light, two coats of Gtechniq EXO v4, solution finish black plastic bed toppers, 303 other exterior plastic. That was a LOT of work! Now I won't have to wax, polish, or anything other than just hand wash for about 4-5 years. (Video best viewed in HD mode)

That looks awesome. Did you do the work indoors? Was it hard to do or just tedious?

I have a question, how the heck do you split the screen on the 12" unit??? I have looked thru the manual but can't find any instructions!

Thanks, John

From the screen you want on top (in full screen} tap the home icon. It will pop that screen to the top and give you options on what you want on the bottom.

Not sure what thread to ask this question on but I might try here. Does anyone know if the truck reads the speed limit signs or is it based on saved street maps? My old 2500 I think was based on maps whereas my bmw reads the signs. The reason for my question is that the depicted speed limit display is often wrong. Thus either the street maps in unconnect are out of date or the camera is reading the signs wrong. Thanks and if there is another thread on this issue that I missed my apologies.

It is based on the nav maps. Some of those limits are outdated so it would take a map update to correct.

Not "today", but over the past week: debadged it, detailed it, polished and sealed the paint, installed a Bedrug and a Truxedo Pro X15 Tonneau cover.

Monday she goes in for a clear bra and ceramic window tint (all windows).
Have any pics you could share of how it looks after the debadging?

Swapped out the factory alpine dash speakers and put in JBL GX302 in. I highly recommend these speakers it’s a night and day difference in sound.

I did it inside the garage with the door open. It's not really hard work, just super tedious. Constant paying attention to detail. After the ceramic coating flashes, you have to wipe it off and make sure there aren't any high spots or "smears" of coating around where you applied the coating. Plus you have to go in approx. 2x2 ft sections. Patience is key!

I was looking at doing something similar but going with CDtechnologies , currently I have the treble set at 7 because the highs are so lacking, did you need to change eq settings after swapping the speakers out?

Several updates (not sure which I mentioned before):
  • Flowmaster muffler -- sounds great!
  • Tinted front windows
  • 3rd Brake light LEDs
  • Interior dome & map lights changed to LEDs (still shocked these were not already LED)
  • LineX Bedliner
  • Kobalt Toolbox
  • RAM Bed Extender (to hold groceries, they slide around to much in the back seat since there is no more transmission hump - LOL).
  • Debadged "RAM" off the doors
Still wanting some other changes, hope some parts get released after SEMA. Waiting on: 2" Lowering kit, 5" Exhaust Tips. And shopping around for some fender flares still not sure I want flat black or painted to match.

How was the bed extender install? I do not have the cargo rails.

Which Flowmaster did you put on? How is the sound inside and outside the truck?

To be honest I don't know. I have a local exhaust place that has done my last 3 vehicles and I trust his choice on these. He went with the Flowmaster instead of Magnaflow and left the rear resonators. Inside the truck - I can hear the rumble when it is running but it is not overpowering or too loud. Outside - it has nice tone with a good low growl for sure (not sure how much my neighbors like it since I go to work at 5am )

i too replaced the three dash speakers yesterday with the same JBL's. so much better sound. replacing the speakers was much easier vs the 4th gen, not much but a little more room to work.
i have the amp update on my short list of dealer fixes, the sound should really pop then!

There's an amp update for the Alpine as well as the HK?

Perhaps getting one of the first hard top painted tonneau bed covers in the country installed today...granite crystal metallic!

Haven’t seen any posted on a forum as of yet...2019 Ram Limited!
