I'll take LEDs and my chances any day

I have same issues with household LED bulbs. But they arent much more expensive than regular filament bulbs, and use less energy. All I know is the “lifetime” LED bulbs I get for my house seem to burn out more frequently than the old incandescents. Expensive ones, cheap ones, tried them all.
If that same “quality” applies to LED automotive lighting I’d say just give me halogens.
But what I’ve owned so far hasn’t gone out so hopefully the failure rate is low, in which case yes I like my LEDs.
That’s the problem… they’re darned whether they do or don’t.
Give em LEDs and people complain they can’t get an $8 replacement bulb.

can you explain further ?Well, depending on what year you bought no matter the trim you were getting the etorque system. It's better to figure out the ways of working on the etorque imo. You can replace the mechanical portion of the etorque motor while retaining your truck's etorque electrical "computer" that mounts on top and it's none the wiser for example. Unfortunately new vehicles, for the most part, aren't made to be wrenched on the way they were in the past.
The belt driven portion has a bearing that I believe can/will go bad. I'm not sure what else is in there internally. The portion bolted to the top with the black electrical connection on the right is programmed to your truck. If you were to buy a used/new replacement you'd have to get it flashed by a dealer. If you just retain that and swap the parts you save yourself a trip to the dealer. View attachment IMG_5782.webpcan you explain further ?

They are covered under factory warranty. Aftermarket warranty, just have to read the fine print. Just because it's a Mopar warranty doesn't make it the best option.Give US an option to replace LED's the same way as halogen bulbs would and there wouldn't be any complaints.
I have zero complaints about replacing the ones at home - which is usually burning out due to the difference in voltage fluctuations from incorrect wattage on the bulb. In fact, every single LED in my home is replaceable by simply unscrewing the bulb and replacing it with a new one lol.
I went through this with a Tacoma. Bought brand new and 6 months in a DRL went out. Over $1000 for an OEM and the only other options especially because it was so new were Morimoto's that were equally expensive and quite frankly, ugly. I should have known better with the RAM, but after owning two FORD's that cover them in their warranty I just assumed MOPAR offered a similar option. Nope. And I know Toyota also offers that option now too.
Whatever. I'll go allegedly lose sleep over it.
In some lighter news, I went through a touchless wash today lol. Aaaaaaand then it snowed.

Regardless, LED headlights are the best option for lighting up the road. Would be nicer if they were more modular so you could replace individual sections, instead of having to replace the whole assembly.
I have a lower signature light on my passenger side out but at this point it’s just an eye sore and cosmetic. Does not affect functionality. So without me going back… have you actually had an issue with the leds on either your headlights or taillights on your Ram that warrants the big fuss? Im not talking about your Tacoma.

LED tails were an option for Bighorns. Only way to get blind spot monitoring. I've seen several Bighorns with halogen headlights and LED tails. And my Built to Serve is a Bighorn with factory LED lighting.Again, missing the entire point. There are too many vehicles using this "buy the entire housing" mentality. I'm not making a fuss, you are just ignoring the point, willfully or not, I just don't understand it. I have not had issues with my RAM headlights, yet. But it's inevitable, isn't it? On any vehicle that does this, it's inevitable. Why spend hundreds or thousands when you could just buy a bulb?
Bighorn owners got it right. Both on headlights and taillights.
My take is not an unpopular one btw, so it's alarming this forum choses to think it is.
They are definitely covered under the 3/36 factory bumper to bumper warranty. Beyond that, you have to rely on the party. Even a Mopar warranty is a third party warranty. They are not covered in any warranty including the factory limited warranty. Ask your dealer next time you are there. The only one that might cover a headlight assembly is maybe a 3rd party dealership one and they offer it at extra cost as an add-on. And yes, MOPAR is covered anywhere meaning it's the best option for the majority of people. Always good to have the option of a second opinion in this stuff. I've personally had to deal with dealerships denying claims before, went to another one and it was zero issue not even a discussion to be had about it.
Just a couple threads with numerous reports stating otherwise:They are definitely covered under the 3/36 factory bumper to bumper warranty. Beyond that, you have to rely on the party. Even a Mopar warranty is a third party warranty.
maybe the spirits telling you to stay away from wintery highways!I had a nightmare last night.
I dreamt that my truck was totalled in a wintery highway pileup.
Woke up in a panic and could not get back to sleep until close to sunrise.
The highway takes me to and from work......and it's winter.maybe the spirits telling you to stay away from wintery highways!
Every single post you quoted, and the link to Subaru forum were all vehicles that were outside the FACTORY warranty and were dealing with extended warranties. The Mopar Max Care, or any other extended warranty, is not the FACTORY warranty.Just a couple threads with numerous reports stating otherwise:
Mopar Warranty Issues
I recently purchased a 2019 Limited. And I also purchased a Mopar Mascara warranty with a $100 deductible. About 3 weeks after I purchased the truck, the lowed LED strip on the passenger headlight decided that it would work when it wanted to. I took it into the dealership for that AND...www.ramforum.com
Right front LED blinker works on and off. At the dealers and they said it’s the front right headlamp assembly is faulty. Yet not covered by warranty. Called to see if covered under my Max Care extended and they said no. It’s not the bulb it’s a faulty assembly - yet not covered? $3000 to fix

They still consider them just plain ol headlights and will not cover them. Seriously, if you don't believe me, ask your local service departments.
And one that has a post (#10) outlining why they (majority of manufacturers) refuse to cover them, and again, numerous reports of people stating they are not covered:

I could show you hundreds more. It's very time consuming, and I think the point I'm making is very clear, just ignored here.

That's the warranty for replacement parts. I don't need to get a print out of anythingAgain, try it with the factory warranty. Call them and ask. Get a print out of an email confirmation from them. Show me specifically where the factory warranty says they are covered. There is ZERO mention of it here for that reason. Either way, they are not covered beyond a certain point and you are left with the bill, warranty or not. And no, not ALL of the posts in those threads were out of FACTORY warranty. Read them.
