What did you do to your Ram today???

Put on my painted mirror covers. Love how they look with the painted hood emblem.

Brought up a question though, does any 1500 come with painted mirrors from the factory?

I have a 2020 Billet Silver 1500 Big Horn with Night Edition package. It came with color matched painted mirrors, door handles and bumpers.

3350 Miles in 6 days. In 2018, I did a 5,000 mile trip on my motorcycle around Quebec, Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine over 12 days. It was a sprint and I only had 2 days n Newfoundland. I've been wanting to go back ever since so we decided to spend 5 days on the big rock.

We left Vermont Saturday for a 11PM Ferry (15 hours driving), woke up on Newfoundland after 8 hours at sea. We spent 5 nights (4 camping, 1 in BNBs) before riding the same ferry back and driving straight home.

Still a sprint but we had a lot of great moments. My wife delivers our first child this November so we're really appreciating these road trips more.

$616 in Diesel and average MPG of 25 which isn't great but average price of Diesel on the rock was $5.25 where it's around $3.79 in New Hampshire. If it wasn't for wild fires, we had planned on going to northern Quebec where Diesel is $10 a gallon and that was going to be a 4,000 mile trip so it would have been triple the cost for Diesel.

Anyway, a few photos of our trip featuring the truck. More are here.

Here's our trip:

Budget wise, provincial / Parks Canada camping was $20-$25 a night CAD (or about 25% off once you exchange USD to CAD) BNBs were $115 a night, we loaded up food at Walmart in New Brunswick which meant only one meal out per day. Diesel was the highest expense but in total, it was $1500 for 7 days. The most expensive thing we did was $70 a person for Whale watching. but I brought my own whiskey and we just hiked and camped and explored old dirt roads. It was fun. The truck had a few very tight squeezes through some one-lane roads that connect on the map but usually dead ended at a pile of dirt. We just drove around exploring. Saw 3 moose, a few beaver, deer and a porcupine. I had fried / breaded cod 5 days in a row and if you haven't had "Newfie Fries" they're amazing. It's poutine (Fries, cheese, gravy) but they use turkey gravy instead of beef gravy and then top it with stuffing / dressing and ground beef in addition to the cheese. Pretty exquisite and I had that for 4 meals with a filet of cod. Here's a photo of "Newfie poutine"

Rotated the tires and added 1/4” wheel spacers to get a little more gap between tire and UCA. These should let me clear 35x12.50R20LT’s for my next set with no issues. Although I’ve still got my eye on LT295/65R20’s…
I see your front plate Go Pokes! Are you located in Oklahoma?

some of yall probably saw it on facebook but i got off work yesterday and decided to join my friends and their bouldering club for a night of camping and climbing.
shown here is how we leveled my truck for sleeping on slanted and rutted ground. I decided not to wait for the Accord guy to leave and take his spot because Boogielander is the camp kitchen and I was hungry.

yes it's an accord that made it in for a day trip. yes 4x4 high clearance not needed. no it was not a comfortable or fun drive for the accord guy (he hit the underside too many times to count)

Nice! I've had to do that a time or two, but never with an Accord. 😃👍🏻

Got home to find my missing Bedrug clip... in my yard. Appears the FedEx guy ran out of steam on the way to my porch.

Oh, well... I installed it, and got the tailgate piece attached. It was a bit annoying out camping, but still better than not having it. Didn't do the bed velcro. Maybe next time the tent comes off.

LOL - Love the rocks for leveling :) Never mind any of those RV leveling "lego" blocks :-) who needs those ! I carry a few short lengths of 2" x 8" pressure treated wood off cuts... but not enough to solve that much leveling need !

i do have them in my truck at all times (truck doesn't do anything else than going camping and do the trails) but this time they decided to play with rocks instead. boys were feeling confident in their rock stacking skills so i sat in my driver seat and let them do their things.

and they got it right lol truck reads 0 pitch and 0 roll after i got up.

hahaha yeah there was a sienna and an odyssey that two families came with.
they all didn't have fun because the trail was rocky and rutted. took them over 2 hours to get in while i was cruising down the trail singing some country songs sending it through the whoops and rutted parts lol
