What did you do to your Ram today???

5,000 mile interval oil & filter change on the EcoDiesel. I usually wait a bit longer but we’re heading away for a month so needed to reset the oil change reminder

Great truck 5thgen.ram, but those pictures?!?! The quality is so nice, it looks like they came from the Ram brochure! Great job!
Thanks! You should see them before I upload them, the quality is 10x better! This website and Instagram both downgrade the quality so much

Dropped it off at the dealer to have the exhaust manifolds checked and replaced.
The dealer gave me a 23 lone Star edition ram with a V6; I must say I'm surprised and that the V6 actually performs pretty well. Second thing I noticed that the air conditioner is a lot colder than mine so I've asked the dealer to check mine and do the recall if necessary so we'll see what happens.

Also, the digital rear view mirror is pretty cool It does however have a lot of glare which I don't like but I guess it takes some getting used to

Dropped off the truck at the dealer for 3rd time on the sunroof, as the passenger side of it collapsed about 1/2 inch....so that was nice surprise while driving, I am guessing some bolts came loose? I don't know....

Wrapped the family vacation! From west Texas to Anaheim, averaged about 15.9 mpg's 🤣

Also, about an hour away from home a rubber mat (kinda looked like a small bed mat or large rear floor mat) was tumbling across the highway. It was literally cartwheeling across all the lanes, most bizarre thing. Guess where it ended up? Yup, right in front of my truck! I couldn't slow down or change lanes so it just took the impact head on. Now, I can't say this enough, I'm glad I have my ADD bumper! I'm almost 100% sure if I didn't have the skid plate, the mat would've ended up inside the engine compartment and would've at least taken out the belt.

And a pic of it, with the nice California scenery. She also turned over 45k miles.

that's why I wanted some sort of shields debris for mine - still not there but almost
2 previous experience with things on the highway - traffic cone and a bucket

I Installed some Toyo Open Country AT3 305/45/22’s yesterday. I had to learn our new tire machine to get it done, and have to say that machine is a good $20k spent. It makes things sooo much easier than I remembered. As for the tires (and before the michelin defenders in the first pic below), I had the AT3’s in 285/50/22 and that size had way more aggressive side and shoulder tread, but it came at a 20lb cost and the truck definitely felt that extra unsprung weight. The 305’s are also louder than the 285’s, but they are night and day better handling than the defenders.

I’m also considering lowering the truck back down to ORG height in the front with non-ORG rear springs.

$20K for a tire changer?!? Whoa!

I have had an Atlas TC221 for years. It was about $1,000 when I bought it. Now it seems to be up to almost $2,000.

I mostly use it for changing motorcycle tires. But, I have used it to change the tires on my truck wheels at least once.

I change tires on my friends' motorcycle wheels for them, if they bring the wheel off the bike and the tire. They generally donate me $10 per wheel to change the tire and balance it (on a cheap static balancer). My tire machine paid for itself years ago just on those donations. I have saved myself a huge chunk more of money by buying my own tires online and changing them myself instead of paying a shop.

$20K for a tire machine! I can't even think of what all that would do for all that extra money!

I have three projects at car dealerships going on right now for work. They are all owned by same people. They are upgrading everything in the service bays. Including brand new Hunter tire machines and road force tire balancers. The tire machines are what they would call zero contact automatic machines. Instead of a clamp that locks into the wheel to keep it in place it has a center areas kind of like the tire balancers with a peg that sticks up to go into lug holes, then you spin a center piece in to hold it down. that is the only place this machine touches the wheels. Then you push a couple buttons on touch screen and let the machine to the work

I'm in manual mode:

Purchased used after MC shop said "2 weeks to put new tires on" and I had them off the MC already.

Can also purchase a trailer hitch set up to mount to.

It was for the business, I don’t personally own it. Getting into the fine details, an assets company technically owns it (until it’s paid off) and we pay a set amount for quick access to funds. It’s a Snap-on wh-331a. We have stuck with snap-on tire changers for roughly 30 years. All our alignment stuff has been Hunter since the shop opened in the ‘70’s.

Man, if you guys don’t stop posting all of this tool porn, I might have to put a building up in my back yard to house some new purchases :LOL:

gonna be hard for me to explain why the whole neighborhood brings me their wheels and tires.

These guys actually have me thinking to myself, "maybe you can actually change tires yourself! Maybe you should give it a try! Let's see what's on marketplace...".

Sigh....
