What did you do to your Ram today???

How much does the clay bar and wax cost? I have an ivory exterior, so not as bad as black for showing yet still could be protected. Thanks

Just picked the truck up but haven't had a chance to take pics. My detailer used a ceramic type wax and the finish looks amazing. He said the clay barring pulled off a lot of surface contaminants. Likely a lot of rail dust.

The cost for the clay barring and the ceramic wax was $375.00. A lot of money but not as much as a true ceramic coating and, again, the finish looks amazing.

Hmmm, I don't want it to go too high. I have also been considering the same RTT (iKamer X-Cover) that Mike (LLOD) has, and I like the height profile above the cover. If that puts it well above the height of the cab, I'd be less interested.
Those quick release mounts are nice, but I think you have to have the slimline (or 4 crossbars) in order for it to hook in correctly.

The only other option I've seen is by Max-Modular (by KBVoodoo fabricators) but it doesn't look quite as clean and is also somewhat higher than I think I'd like.
For the quick release FR mount I was going to drill into the DB cover. I got an email yesterday from Diamondback featuring it as a mounting option.

Brought my truck for the rear brake squeal service bulletin (had the parts ordered for it) and a bad drivers side ball joint (parts ordered too) just to find out they are now changing the upper and lower control arms along with the ball joint and had to take a loaner truck home since they need until tomorrow to fix it.

The loaner is a 2019 RAM 1500 Classic Quad Cab (V6) - man that thing is slow compared to the V8

I got that email yesterday, too. I'll look into your thought about mounting the QR directly to the cover. I just figured the tracks would be useable for other things down the road, whereas those mounts wouldn't be. I'm starting to think maybe a kayak and/or bicycle mount option as well.

Got mine ready for the weekend

Any suggestions on Tint Brand? Local place wants to do 3M FX Premium on all 4 doors and the rear window for $150.

Picked up Diamondback HD cover from FedEx Freight. Guy loaded it right into the bed and off I went. Install took me little over an hour because I did it myself and I'm short. A second person would make it easier. No drilling. Fit perfectly first try. For those that don't know about this top: both panels lock. it makes bed waterproof. it will hold 1600 lbs on top. you can add mounts to it like racks and a RTT. its double coated with Line-X that has UV coat. I've seem interior mods where folks add brackets to hold shovels, axes, hi-lift jacks etc... Its rock solid. Gas shocks make opening easy. And the panels are easily removed - one or both. And if you need to take the whole thing off - Two people would make the whole take off less than 10 min job - unscrewing the clamp nuts would take most time. Up next: Will add Mopar Cargo bed divider this weekend. The top and internal stainless steel locking bars or clamps don't interfere with the cargo rails. Then Frontrunner rack tracks, mounts and rack followed by RTT.

Can you open/close the tailgate with that cover down? Just curious. Looks really sweet!!

Bummer about the repair. Loaner makes you appreciate what you have though.

Saw this online the other day. Anyone have any experience with this company? Looks cool but would be afraid of it damaging the hood. Can someone buy it and let me know how they like it lol

How do you color match the ram letters?

A razor blade and pry tool, pull the letters off. Didn’t break any tabs. Purchased the actual blue streak paint from dealer. 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear

What don't you like about the Lomax? I added one and don't have any issues with it.

It came damaged, the seals seem flimsy, already when closing it the second panel didn’t seat with that hook so I had to open again and re-close it. There’s significant light coming in in 6 places so I know I will have water issues.

Just doesn’t seem well built, the fact that it bends and flexes when you open it doesn’t instill confidence for me. I have contractor friends who beat the crap out of their Bakflips and they still work. This thing would be toast.
