What did you do to your Ram today???

Went to the body shop to have a rock chip looked at. Guy said he could fix it for $975....

Post a pic of the chip with something of size to reference. That sounds like ALOT! I realize they’ll paint the whole panel, remove necessary parts that need to be removed etc. but that’s a lot.

It's a super small chip. I tried touch up paint first, but it was down to the metal and there is still an indention, not real happy with how it turned out. I realize pretty much no one is ever going to see it, but I know it's there and that's bad enough.

Take it to a detailer. They'll fill it in with paint and buff it out. Probably charge you $100.

^^^^. Where the heck was this “ chip “ located for that kind of money ?

The edge of the front passenger wheel well. I thought I had wiped the stupid off my forehead before I left the house this morning, but apparently I was wrong. Lol

Took it to one of the highest rated PDR guys around.. Trying to decide whether this will satisfy my OCD or if I need to go for paint :(

Yeahhhhh... I had a PDR guy do that the the entire lower hatch on a white Acura MDX.. It bugged the *&^% out of me till I sold it. Hmmmmm

Tinted my windows... Running boards and level Hopefully next week.

Added suntek ppf, detailer was not sure if he needed it overnight. At 5pm I checked the truck position via the guardian app and it was still across town, so I picked up a loaner. Was really tempted to remote start the truck, but I restrained myself

If you contact some you know at the dealership they have a guy that goes around and repairs small dings dents etc. I met one years ago from my dealership and he is excellent getting dents out. Usually charges 100 bucks and you meet him on a lot some place close to you and he is done in minutes! The One I use is located in N.Ky/S.Ohio. Some does small touch up paint work on chips as well. many body shops know these guys that do this as well.

Was hoping that you were still getting these! They have move to the top of my list. What finish did you get? They look lighter in color then what I was expecting. They had to custom drill the holes for you on this, correct? How do the custom holes look? Can't wait to see these mounted!
Thanks! Me too! But unfortunately it will be months before that happens- first the truck needs to arrive some time in November and then I will have to wait for winter to come and pass...

:-) Thanks! I got what is called tinted. I thought they would be double tinted - that was the little darker you refer to, but they turned out great and I am quite happy with how they turned out. Can't wait to see them on either. Just need to get the truck first - haha! Mid November is now the time, they say... Then I need to decide on which tires... The wholes look great - you can not see that they're drilled differently - at all.
