Just watched my truck get its *** beat by golf ball size hail. Dents everywhere. I’m driving it now and can see the dent all over the hood.

Picture from my neighbor.

Jesus!!! That happened to me like The second week. But the hail wasn’t that size.

But The hood dented??? The only reason mine didn’t is cuz it’s fiberglass.

Had it here too but it was down to quarter size and did no damage. It's not unusual to get ping pong/golf ball size through tennis balls size though.

Probably going to buy a hail protector, some one on a neighbors car a few streets over.

Sorry about the hail damage to your truck, I know the feeling.
In the late 90s I was at home when a large hail storm hit Dallas. Orange to grapefruit size hail, watched it beat the **** out of my Daytona Shelby. I could only stand in the garage yelling stop as it the clouds would.

The. 2 years later, it happened again, mayfest storms
Me an my GF at the time were down in the stockyards when the storm hit mayfest. Luckily we were in doors but her ford ranger was destroyed. I worked at Home Depot at the time and spent the entire shift the next day cutting glass. I lived in Lake Worth when the tornado hit Downtown Fort Worth. My wifes Eclipse was destroyed and we had softball size hail go through the roof of our pop up trailer. Hail storms are no koke.

Remember that storm too, the Tandy center building was ultimately demolished after that storm, that was some gigantic a** hail that day

Haha I mean I didn’t think so. She’s a bends a leeetle beet. Aluminum doesn’t flex with rebound like that.

Its aluminum

2019 Ram 1500 cuts up to nearly 225 lbs. with high-strength steel, some aluminum

FCA announced Jan. 15 that the next-generation 2019 Ram 1500 cut nearly 225 pounds out of the vehicle through lightweighting, including building the frame out of 98 percent higher-strength steels.
The OEM also increased its aluminum usage by building the tailgate out of the metal. The 1500 had already pioneered aluminum hoods among trucks, according to FCA, and that closure remains aluminum on the next-generation model.
That’s the extent of the aluminum on the exterior of the vehicle — in contrast to its rival next-generation 2019 Chevrolet Silverado (which adds aluminum doors in addition to the other closures) and the next-generation 2015-present Ford F-150 (which is completely aluminum until you reach the frame). FCA said it used aluminum “for selective components, not just where possible but where practical.”
However, collision repairers might still encounter more of the metal on the truck, including aluminum lower control arms (a metal choice carried over from the 2018 Ram 1500), the engine mounts, transmission and front suspension crossmembers, the center part of the front axle and the steering gear. FCA also switched the exhaust hanger brackets to aluminum as part of its efforts to cut 9 pounds out of the 2019 Ram 1500’s exhaust system.

Dude.....that ****ing sucks!!!

Made me have flashbacks. I factory ordered a 2010 1500 Sport.
About 4 months old, some dildo went down our sidewalk keying vehicles....
Get the truck back and about 2 weeks later, an 89 year old lady runs a stop sign coming out of a parking lot and nails me for over $20k in damage. Not enough to write-off (pissed me off).
THREE MONTHS it took to get my truck back and the same week I did.....another $8k+ in hail damage (I seriously thought my insurance company was gonna drop me after this).

We were living in our RV while building our house when that hail hit. All I could do is watch my truck alarm flash the lights, toot the horn and sound the siren as I damn near cried helpless...until all the roof vents got smashed out and we had to stop the water from coming inside.

Hope they can fix you up.

Nice shoes! I've been considering the same OE Creations 22x10's in black. I believe this rim pokes out about 1/4" compared to the stock rims and hoping you would be willing to post a pic showing the tire/rim stance in relation to the outside of fenders, both front and back. Those chrome rims are a great choice and look really nice with your white truck and badging.

I'm also considering the AT3's, maybe bigger, and curious about your thoughts on the road noise level compared to stock tires.
Thanks!
These wheels are just a tad different than OEM.
22×10, +25 offset. With the 12.5 wide tires, front wheels sat just too close to the UCA's for my liking, so I added in a set of 3/8 inch BORA Spacers. Below I have before spacer (first two pics) and after spacer photos. Also before and after of the space between tire and UCA. Ran them for about 1300 miles before adding in spacers.
As far as the tires go, I love em. Was looking at 305/45/22, but backorder was a long wait, and they had these in stock.
Only thing for me is the jump from 18's to 22's, along with the lesser sidewall, the overall ride has changed a bit. Really do feel all of the road now, but not much change in road noise.
Good luck, and thanks again! 👊

Huh. Whattaya know? Maybe I’m thinking of the rambox lids then. Those are definitely not metallic, and flex easily. But that’s some weak *** aluminum. And why didn’t mine dimple in the hail then? My roof sure did. Guess I got lucky?

It's just a guess, but maybe the shape of the hood helped it resist it the hail (vs the roof which has a flatter shape to it).
