What did you do to your Ram today???

That's a pretty nice setup. Especially that 10 pin dash cam power adapter.

Had my Tuffy Center Console Safe sitting on my tool bench for over a year now. Decided I had nothing better to do tonight after the kids went to bed. So, got that put in. Fits so snug. First time I have ever had a second key on my key ring. Usually just walk around with the RAM Fob.

Will a 45 handgun fit in there?

And if it will how hard was it to install?

Thanks

as others have said before me....if there are no pics, it didn't happen. LOL

Sorry gents, didn’t take any pics during install, but it did indeed happen. IMG_3155.jpg

If anyone else does this, just pull down on the mirror and it will release from the center bolt. Then the cover is two pieces, separate them and remove cover then install adapter and the mirror twist locks back into place (took a bit to figure that part out). Then place the bottom cover in place and reattach the upper portion. Best advice to give is be patient and take your time.

Easily. It's a pretty big space. Install is simple. It's 6 screws.

Have you thought about mounting the camera to the right or left side of the mirror to get it out of your FOV?

Oh, I did. The separator tool would not open far enough to fit on top of the UCA AND under the bottom of the ball joint bolt. I ultimately went with the pickle fork because I was at my wits end and had NO plans on re-using the stock UCA's so I was not concerned with damaging the boot. Coincidentally, I did not find any boot damage after we were done.
When I installed the Bilstein 5100s with the mopar UCAs, used a 5lb sledge with pickle. Like yours, wouldn't budge. Tried heat, still wouldn't budge. Last resort, modified the separator tool by removing the portion of the arm below the red line and widened the opening to gain more purchase. Worked perfect.

It just looks weird there. I like having a dash cam, but I don't want it to stick out and distract from rest of truck

Where Dookie has it?
Yeah. I hardly notice where mine is from inside, and with tinted windshield, you can't see it at all from outside. Put the one in my wife's car in the same spot. My work van, I have one that attaches to rearview mirror and becomes the rearview mirror with a small LED screen on one side.

I’m symmetrical nazi. I cannot have it left or right, center makes me good. And it doesn’t obstruct my FOV.

Aimed for a diagonal layout to keep stuff from fov. Viofo on upper right, R3 rd in middle and GMRS radio on lower right. Works for me.
