I have a 2019 Ram Rebel quad cab and took it to the dealer on May 8th for the driver’s floorboard being wet. They put it under a shower head looking apparatus and checked all the usual spots: window seals, windshield, 3rd brake light, around the door, etc and were unable to duplicate the leakage. They put it on a lift to see if there was an obvious gap in a body panel and no luck with that either. Fast forward to the last 2 days we had heavy rain in North Carolina and I did not drive my truck. It sat in my driveway the last two days. I checked the floor this morning and the floor is soaked. I could squeeze water out of the padding below the carpet. My carpet is starting to have a mildew smell because of the water. So frustrating to spend that much for a truck and continue to have the same issue. I have an appointment for next Tuesday 5/26 where they will keep it for a few days. I hope they can get it fixed and will do the right thing and fix the mildewed carpet issue!!!!

Hi @ChrisBrad - I sincerely apologize that your dealer was not able to remedy your leak and that you are still dealing with this. At this point, I would like to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist who can work alongside your dealer to exhaust all available resources in getting corrected as soon as possible.

Warranty will pay for replacement carpet and pad; don't let dealer just dry out wet interior items and put back in--the odor will still be there.

I would definitely like to get this problem resolved correctly in total. Carpet and anything else damaged replaced and whatever needs to be done to fix the problem. I am sitting at the dealership currently dropping my truck off for round two (2). Thanks for any help that you can provide. I will be happy to provide any details that you may need to assist with the issue.

What are the build dates for thoes of you with 2020s with this issue?
[/QUOT mine was a manufactured 11/19 iI just found out I had the problem with the leaking floorboard. unfortunately it's been leaking since the day I drove it off the lot brand new and I highly doubt they're going to want to change my carpet out there's already white mold growing underneath and I'm very disappointed but would like to get this addressed and fixed. I have an appointment for next Wednesday and when I called he said he wasn't sure of any other trucks having leaking problems. And there giving me loaner for free while they do

Here is an update on my leaking brand new truck. I still have not gotten my water leak fully resolved. I waited until the virus thing slowed down a bit, and took my Rebel in on May 14th. The dealer performed the Star Case Report, removing the fender, etc. They tested it again and it still leaks. Not as much, I would estimate it fixed about 75% of the leak. But it still leaks nonetheless. I needed my truck for a trip over the Holiday, so I picked it up, while the dealer said they would research what to do next. I have been calling them every other day now, to see what to do next. They claim they are in contact with "engineering" to see what the next step is to stop the leak. And, to make matters worse, the fender doesn't seem to be installed like the factory did. The seam where the fender and hood meet doesn't match up. The fender is lower and the hood sticks up higher, about 1/8". I have not mentioned that to them yet. Sucks that the dealer is 1.5 hours away from my house too, so is a hassle to go back and forth.
@ Mark at Ram Cares: Can you please reopen my case. A lady named Roxanne called me once, but said she could not keep this case open this long, due to the virus....? I will not give up getting this fixed.

Another month has passed, and still no fix for my water leak. I took my Rebel in on June 18th and the dealer says they have tried a few things that engineering told them to do, but it still leaks and they still have it. They have had the truck now for 29 days. They claim they are now waiting for a "field rep" to come and look at the truck. Due to covid, they are just now able to travel. My state's Lemon Law says 4 visits to fix the problem or 30 days in the shop qualifies for a Lemon Law. I don't want to do it, but maybe, this is getting ridiculous. In the 6 months I've owned it, it has been in the shop one month total now.

Water Leak May Be Fixed!
I want to report that they may have fixed my water leak finally, in case it helps someone else track down the problem. They had to take apart a wrecked truck to see what it could be. They did do the Star report #S1923000026 months ago, and that stopped the leak some. The remaining leaks were apparently coming from under a metal panel on the cowl, maybe on the side of the cowl? I guess the panel is a one time install, so once they took it off, they had to order a new one to replace it. They said that under this cowl panel, there are three body seams that come together. My Rebel did not have any sealer on these seams. It also required taking out the wheel well. Hope this helps anyone else out there that has a leak they can't fix. My carpet is still dry after a day of down pours, so we shall see if it continues. Glad to have my Rebel back after 52 days in the shop....

I have a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie quad cab, 3200 miles. Carpeting is soaked only on the drivers side front. I have an appointment with the dealership tomorrow. I found a TSB (which I attached) on this issue and was wondering if anyone has an experience with them performing repairs in the TSB. I am pretty nervous about them removing the fender. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Hi MIke1975,
I have a Lonestar 2019 crewcab that had the same problem. It took several trips to get it fixed, had the steering wheel and the heated seat short out from a harness getting water in. I had to have the windshield pulled and resealed and a new panoramic sunroof track and seal put in.

Thanks everyone for your posts. It turns out that after 4 failed attempts to repair the leak FCA finally agreed to accept a surrender of the vehicle which I could not be happier with. If anyone is going through this issue or any other similiar issue except nothing but the resolution of a surrender. During this process I have had the worst customer care from the dealership and FCA. FCA insulates themselves, deflects and down plays every concern you have. The negative out of this deal is FCA will not supply a loaner vehicle while my 2021 Ram is being built even though this will be my 3rd consecutive Ram, so I will be without a vehicle for about 6-8 weeks at a minimum. FCA does not care nor provide minimum customer service. Hopefully no one has to go through what I did for the proper outcome for a similar concern.

I am having the same issues with my 20 limited. It only has 3k miles on it. Noticed excessive condensation on all the windows. Further investigation I found the carpet soaked on the driver's side. Took the truck to the dealership. They removed the fender, "fixed" the leak by sealing a seam and replaced the carpet. After the next rain storm we had I found water on both sides in the front. Took it back to the dealership. They replaced the front windshield. Said the carpet will dry out. Today I opened up my door and the musky stinking wet carpet smell hit me hard. I pulled the floor mat and found the carpet soaked again. Took it back to the dealership. They are not sure where the water is coming from. The service advisor did spray water on the back window. We saw drops of water coming in. The carpet is not wet in the rear. Getting really frustrated with this. I have had 5 rams since 2012. I love them but seems like the quality control department is falling down on the job. Not sure what they will try this time but it's getting old fast!!!!

I guess I'm about to ride this fun train now too. I bought a used 'certified' 2020 rebel last week and the driver side carpet was wet. I brought it in 2 days ago and got it back in a day. They said that the drain valve on the driver side of the sunroof was clogged. They unclogged it and preformed a leak test and it was all set. Went outside the AM and the carpet was wet... odd, it didn't rain at all last night.

I miss my 2012.

I need to bump this thread.
My 2019 RAM with 30,000 miles started leaking onto the passenger and driver floors about two-three weeks ago. Brought it to the local dealership and they claim they could not reproduce the problem (I don't think they tried very hard). I took the truck brought it to a carwash and brought it back to show them that the carpet was wet. I think they are stumped on this. At this point I am not sure what to do. The dealership has had my truck for about two weeks (in total). I'm not sure that they know what they are doing. Is their a way to escalate this situation?
