Water leak drivers side front floor board

@RamCares,

How is FCA still pumping out 2020 trucks with this issue? It's absolutely insane that no one at the factory is checking for this.
I am appalled at the lack of QC going on in your plants. No excuse whatsoever for trucks that have been in production for TWO YEARS.
Mine was built in November 2018 and I had the leak. Obviously the problem has not been addressed from reading this thread.

I didn't realize that the original poster had a 2020 model. Mine is a 2019 model manufactured in June 2018. I agree with above that this should not still be happening with 2020 models.

They even issued a Star Case no. to fix this specific leak and somehow the word didn't get to the factory floor.

Here's another wet floor from a new member, searching for answers. I purchased a 2020 Rebel made in Nov 2019. It now has 2000 miles on it. The driver's front floor gets soaked every time it rains. I don't have the sunroof. I have a dealer appointment for next week. I guess I will show them this PDF Star report and hope they can fix it too. What really gets me is my wife's 2017 Rubicon has also leaked since new. It has been to the dealer 5X and they couldn't fix it, so we gave up and removed the carpet. It makes it hard to buy FCA again. I sure hope the dealer can fix my Rebel.

Hi G. Very sorry to hear. This was going on with my 2020 Ram Big Horn, no sunroof. I dropped mine off at the dealership last Sunday and picked up yesterday afternoon. The master technician completed the Star Case instructions. We had rain most of the night and this morning in central North Carolina. I just went out to check the floorboards and they were dry. I only had my RAM one week before discovering this issue. Most of us on this thread scratch our heads on why this is going with 2020 when it was identified as an issue with the 2019. With all that said I hope this is the same with your truck as well.

What are the build dates for thoes of you with 2020s with this issue?

I'm just wondering if they are using components which were constructed and then not used right away. I work for a company that manufactures complex products, and in our old process, some of the components and sub-assemblies could sit around for weeks or months before they were actually used in a build. We knew the build date for the end product, but the components used may have been assembled long before that build date.

I have no idea what kind of processes FCA uses, but I can imagine a scenario where a cab is assembled, and then sits for a while before it's used in a build. Maybe that cab was assembled before the star report was issued, and the fix was not applied? Maybe stretching there, but who knows. We're on the outside looking in, and they're not very forthcoming with any information to the end user. Just throwing that out there.

Wow. Mine was built November 2019 also. Guess I should go check my carpet since it poured rain here last night. I have the thick Mopar floor liners so I wouldn't know otherwise.

So the STAR bulletin on this issue came out in August, and trucks built 3 MONTHS later still had the issue?? That's terrible.

So far, I haven't yet found water inside my truck. I will continue to monitor it as we have more storms coming.

My build date was 11-18-19. It would be helpful in this thread if anybody who finds water inside could also post their build date so we can establish a trend.

Very doubtful. The fabrication part of the build (body) is done at point-of-need. That includes body panels that are used in the cab and box fabrication. There wouldn't be any provision to store major body assemblies as floor and lot space are often a premium.

It is more likely an assembly step that for some reason has a random, reoccurring issue. Most of the bonding materials (mastic, etc.) are robot installed nowadays, which I believe is the issue in this case. Oddly, I don't think this was an issue with the very early builds.

Another quad cab driver's side leakier here. I am waiting for some rain to drive in. The dealer removed and installed the windshield again
