Updated 2" Mopar Lift/Level Kit - Discussion

No he doesn’t, you can’t install this kit with air suspension...
I haven't read this whole thread so maybe this question has been answered. I am purchasing a 2020 Laramie 4WD 5'7" crew cab. I would like to level it without raising the rear. I don't plan on any larger tires than 33" diameter. Considering two options: 1) Readylift leveling kit including UCA's
2.) Mopar 2" lift kit used for the front only and selling the rear shocks. I understand this will be more expensive, but am willing to do it if it will be better...and it will be under warranty. Any comments on which would do the best job and give the best ride? Thanks for any info.

The Mopar would be the best, but also very expensive just for a level. The Readylift with UCAs did not change my ride quality at all. Only the tires did. You can get the Readylift UCAs by themselves off Amazon, then get a MotoFab top had spacer and save a couple hundred bucks than buying the full Readylift kit.

I love the Mopar lift kit. I believe it was absolutely worth it and I feel like the ride quality has improved.

Thanks for the information. Can anyone confirm this is the # for the ORP springs?

Also, what parameters am I working with when it come to offset on wheels, planning on 33-35” tires. Assuming wheel size doesn’t effect this, only over all tire size.
Not sure what offset fits or doesn't, but I do know that there are different offsets for different wheel widths that have identical back spacing. Offset is a measurement of distance from the center of the wheel. Therefore, the back spacing of +19mm for the OEM 9" wheels will be very different from the back spacing of a set of 14" wide aftermarket wheel. Readylift has a nice calculator on their website that can help you compare your wheels to the OEM wheels. But even then, you still need to ensure the wheels you're looking at clear your brakes. You'll need to double check with your vendor or wheel manufacturer for fitment.

I like the look of your truck. Appears as though the tires don't stick out past the fender wells. I assume you lifted the back and front and didn't just use the front part of the lift kit?

Thanks! Yeah i had them lift the front and back. And the tires don’t stick out at all.

Thank you for the reply. Did the Readylift UCA's correct the improper angle of the UCA's you get with just using spacers? Any reason to change to a better ball joint , different springs or anything else with the Readylift kit?

The ball joint angle is much much better with the Readylift UCAs after a leveling kit. The factory ball joint gets put in a bind much easier. You could also do the Mopar UCAs that come with their kit, those can be bought separate. I replaced mine for peace of mind as 4th gens were notorious for the upper ball joint to come out of socket after a level. No need for different springs or anything else.

Is there a better ball joint?

Or wait for the Bilstein 5100's to come out.

Great info. appreciate it

Will adding those alone level the truck? I assume the UCA angle would remain "normal" with these? Thank you

You should be fine, the thing about a preload style lift is that it only adds a very marginal height increase to the entire assembly (including the mopar lift, my mopar assembly only added about .3" total shock height but 2" total lift on the ground). The lift is achieved moreso by stiffening the spring preload. So at full down travel, the ball joint is not really stressed much past stock.

When you use a top or bottom spacer style lift, it increases the height of the entire assembly so puts a large amount of stress on the ball joint during downward travel, therefore needing a different ball joint angle.

So does this kit lift the truck 2" all around? or does it mainly level out the front and slightly adjust the rear?

I'm tempted but do not want my rear to go up much.

Lifts the front 2" and the rear 2", my truck stayed 2" higher in the rear after this lift.

RE; leveling a 2020 1500 Laramie crew cab, 4WD, regular suspension.....thanks for all the prior comments re: leveling this truck. I contacted Bilstein regarding the upcoming B8 5100 shocks. This shock is designed to LEVEL this truck using adjustable snap rings on the shock. Here's what I got from Bilstein...."We're currently in production of the 5100 shock for the new body style Ram pickups. We hope to have these shocks available around the first part of next year. These shocks will install using all factory components. You will not need after market control arms. " I did not get a price (probably isn't available yet). As I understand it, this technology is not new and has been used on other brand trucks. Just the 2019/2020 Ram application is new.
This solution seems to be worth waiting for. Any comments appreciated.

I just got my truck back tonight from the dealership. They installed the Mopar 2" lift kit. I told them about the TSB when I dropped the truck off. When picking the truck up tonight, the service rep stated they installed the lift and followed the TSB. When I got home, I questioned the rake which is very noticeable to me. I still have the stock tires on it. I measured from the center of the wheel hud to the wheel liner above. The front is 6 1/2" and the rear is 10 3/4". Thoughts?

Love your setup. I’m running almost the exact thing. Do you have pictures more of the side that show the rake? I feel like mine isn’t as noticeable as before.

There should be a 2” difference front to rear, but you want to measure the center of the hub or centercap to the bottom of the wheel well.

That looks very off. Looks like an old dodge roadrunner.

If you can, take a photo of the bottom spring perch on the front Shock, i will be able to tell you if they put the extra ring in there or not. If you want my cell number? Pm me if you’d like to text about it.
