Updated 2" Mopar Lift/Level Kit - Discussion

I had the newest kit (#77072424AD) installed yesterday. I am not too happy with the amount of rake. I thought the newer kits addressed this issue? I have exactly 2" of rake from front to back. I asked the dealership tech if he installed any spacers under the spring perch and he said the kit did not include any. I do not have ORP springs - I've read several threads where folks state they make the front end too firm and the ride suffers. I'm thinking maybe I should order the spacer rings separately and have them installed? If so, is it one ring or two per strut?

Stock Bridgestones on it....deciding which size Ridge Grapplers I want between 275/65, 285/65, or 295/65...

Regardless, the rake will be the same. I don't like it at all.

Yep, from what I understand, earlier kits the rake was worse. All this kit does is raise the truck 2” and retains the factory rake. I despise rake, so I left the spacers off the rear and it sits nice and level. I also have the Mopar level.

I plan for airbags or bump stops to combat the sag. Level all around is the win for me.

I just can't see any way that Mopar "fixed" this kit to be more level....how bad was it before if this is the fix?!?!

The rake was nowhere near this pronounced when stock....the lift made it worse (or at least made it LOOK worse).

I'm wondering if I got an "AD" kit but somehow the old style front shocks were included without the revised spring perch location or the spacer rings included?

I'm at a loss here, but I really don't want to lower the rear to match the front - I want the front raised to match the rear. I'd settle for an inch of rake at most, but 2" is too much for me and the truck looks stupid.

I'm thinking my next move should be a set of ORP front springs. I'll have to pay again for teardown and assembly along with another alignment. That part doesn't bother me so much - it's the fear of a harsh ride that does.

I crawled under the truck again and looked....I can see some clear tape (or shrink wrap) up under the spring perch....does this mean there is a ring spacer in there?

Can someone with the AD kit please measure the distance between the bottom of the spring perch and the bottom of the shock body for me so I can confirm I have the correct ones?

This is mine 2019 bighorn with mopar lift. I think once you put rear wheel well liners in and maybe some step bars you will like it more.

I think once you throw some rear wheel well liners on and maybe some step bars it will dress it up a little bit the rake doesn’t look that bad you don’t want to be driving down the road and looking at the front tip of the hood I think that’s that looks good. I included a picture of my truck it’s the same as yours, same 2 inch lift same everything I just have some liners some step bars and tonnahue cover

@cervelo15

So you installed the Mopar kit components but only up front? You left the rear completely stock?

That may be the easiest route to take then...I can take the rear spring spacers out myself in my garage. Did you use the included rear Fox shocks? I'm not sure if they'll work with stock ride height or not.

That’s exactly what I did, left the rear spacers out and installed the supplied Fox shocks. No issues at all and sits perfectly level. Yes, I know it was an expensive level, and I‘ll get the Carolina squat when I tow or haul, but I don’t tow or haul too much. And when I do, I plan to get airbags to counter that.

I was originally going to go the ORP route, but the ORP spring on the front woukdnt fit unless you compress the sh*t out of it. So I cut my losses and sold the ORP springs and put everything on sans rear spacers.

Well, I went ahead and got the tires I wanted today at least. Now I just need to decide if I want to install the ORP front springs I have sitting in my garage or remove the spring spacers in the back to drop it back down to near level. Or, look for a 1" spring spacers instead?

I’ve heard that too, that’s a way people eliminate the rake, put a 1” top hat spacer on the front

Bro truck looks sick. I would leave it be. U start adding spacers u will void warranty. How does it drive?

Thanks. It drives better than stock....I can take bumps at speed comfortably....I can attribute this to the Fox shocks and more rubber between me and the road now.

The Fox Kit is sold as a lift kit, not a leveling kit, thats what I was told at the dealership. it will not level the truck, it will lift it. I kicked it around for months, and went with MOTOFAB 2" front spacers and ORP rear springs, I have 1" rake on my truck and it didn't change the ride of the truck.

I totally agree I just put on my new rims and tires and boy do they corner well! I love the sports feel too. I don't mind the rake with no spacers you can see the road still.20220425_164801.jpg20220425_164837.jpg

Did I miss what tire size you decided on? 295 60 20's? Thought I read somewhere that was the largest you can go on factory wheels? I understand the concern about the rake but the truck does look good!

I just picked up the 77072424AB (yes AB) from a guy on Marketplace. Got what I want to believe is a decent deal. It was new in the box but I am struggling with how I want to proceed forward. I have the 6'4 bed so fear the rake will be even more noticeable. Yet some trucks with this lift seem to have a more tolerable rake.
