I’m currently sitting with my hood up and battery disconnected at a local tire shop that I ordered some new Toyo Ridge grappler.
Paid extra to have them install new sensors since I had one that was bad.
Went for a test drive!
Noticed an obvious shimmy that gets worse the faster you go. Sensors did not work got the temporary unavailable message.
Came back to the shop, was told the vibration is probably the spacers I have installed that aren’t hubcentric.
Immediately said no, sir! They are hubcentric and have not had an issue in five years that they’ve been on the truck. Smooth as glass up until now.
Don’t like being lied to!
Then he tells me that you have to wait 20 minutes before you go for your first drive to reset. Why didn’t they say that to begin with?
Once I reconnect the battery, I’m going to let it sit for the 20 minutes they recommend. Then go for a test drive for 20 to 30 minutes above 30 miles an hour if that doesn’t work I’m gonna request a refund on the sensors and order the Mopar ones!
Which is what I should’ve done in the first place.
