Have you pulled that to see what’s behind?
Not ready for that level of commitment, was hoping someone else had... ;-) Also building my savings for the leather mod so won’t do this too soon.

I have seen folks successfully remove the entire console though, so I suspect wiring could be fished through it. If I recall (waiting to get my keys from service, with a new ANC unit) my console is all black so I think a nice low profile black switch would look great there.

I think that would work in my opinion with one of the flat switches like this for example from the link that Nick54 provided:

19758

I would want pretty close to console to prevent accidental movement but centered just right.

My toggle switch is to control the front light bar from RC that I put in... that plastic panel is quite thick and hard (no pun intended) so I used a Dremel and it took me a bit to do a decent job...

@drsubie ...can you post a pic or two of your light bar please and a link to it? Thanks!

I don't have access to my truck (wife is using it atm), but this is the one I bought:

Rough Country 20" light bar

there's a couple of detailed threads on this light bar already. For $200, it's a decent option that has a DRL amber function (which I leave on all the time), but the actual LED light isn't quite strong enough for any serious off roading use (not that I put my Limited through that anyhow)...

So I’m not going to use those little project boxes for the switches. I just didn’t like the look. Too boxy  Instead I think I am going to mount the switches into this piece of trim. It is near the drivers right side (knee area), under the shifter knob. The trim piece pops off very easily and has room behind it to accommodate the depth of switches/knobs. Here a couple pics of the piece I’m talking about.

Got the switches done. Just kept the ones that came with the wiring harness. Nothing fancy but they were simple and clean and Rebel Red!

SWEEEEEET!!!!

Looks great!!!

Your knee come close to them?

Ok....just a bit of OCD, would you please turn the top switch just a smidget (maybe 1/16 inch) clockwise so the lines on each line up.

Seriously I like the look/location!!!

You’re funny. I thought the same exact thing when I looked at that picture (have to adjust that)! I was trying to get a little cute because On the one hand I wanted them straight in a line but on the other, the trim sits in a bit of an angle and I wanted the switches to be straight once installed. Anyway, I’ll go fix it

My knee doesn’t come near them thankfully!

That’s a great spot. I just gave up on mine and ended up zip tying this little alimnum Mount I made basically directly under that spot in the corner there. Then I just reach down and click them when I need it. But it’s super dodgy. The only thing I like is that they are hidden out of sight.

I might have to copy this when I get some time to mess with it again.

I have no idea. I’ll have to measure them in the morning. I thought these round rockers were a standard size but I could be wrong. They are small but I’ll get a measurement.
Awesome thanks. I’ve seen 16mm 19mm and 21mm

The stock switch panel would be perfect except that Ram changed to those toggles that stick out, and “press on press off” instead of being two-positioned. Another post on it is here.

I’m wondering about this 2”x4” flat spot on the forward-sides of the center console (thinking after market seat heat/vent switches in my case). Any thoughts?

Did you ever find out if switches could be mounted there?

Came across the HD RAM pic which will have some AUX switches (see pic below); would be nice if could transition that switch bank/push button keyes into our trucks.

My Bighorn has a few blank spots where I can add potentially due to not having all the bells and whistles. If anyone comes across the OEM switch/buttons let me know. I will play around with the one blank switch (see second pic of my truck) to see if I can add my Exhaust Cutoff there!!!

2nd pic here is my truck below:

I found this link that gives details on those upfitter switches. That was going to be my thought process as well, to find a way to mount those in there, but it seems a bit more extensive than what a shadetree guy could do LOL

I delayed my leather/heat upgrade so am still not certain, but that location is still my plan for a seat heat switch. Just need to find someone who has peeked inside that channel of the center console to make sure nothing is blocking the area. Someday...
