It’s nice to have discussions with adults… who don’t feel the need to hurl insults, ridicule, etc.I did some searching, but haven't found anything concrete to support my claim. So I may be incorrect.
IKR!It’s nice to have discussions with adults… who don’t feel the need to hurl insults, ridicule, etc.
Wrong or right, both won.
Kudos sir.
It is my understanding that the throttle body is calibrated by putting the ignition in RUN without starting the motor. After everything finishes booting, slowly depress the accelerator, hold at max for a second and then slowly release. If the intake snorkel is off, you can watch the throttle body valve respond. How you do calibrate the throttle body?
I have tried the recalibration with the gas pedal before, this is the first I am hearing about the forward collision warning system. I will give that a try in the morning. Thanks!I would also try turning off the Forward Collision Warning on vehicles experiencing severe hesitation on acceleration.
1) Turn off Auto Start Stop
2) Go to Uconnect->Safety/Driver->Forward Collision (Off)
3) Calibrate the Throttle Body
4) Try a new Throttle Body ~ $200
Try tow mode too. It’s like sport modeI have tried the recalibration with the gas pedal before, this is the first I am hearing about the forward collision warning system. I will give that a try in the morning. Thanks!
Unfortunately, shutting off the forward collision warning didn't help at all. Tow mode does feel like sport mode but the delay on reacceleration from slow speed is still there. So frustrating.Try tow mode too. It’s like sport mode
I’d try a throttle controller next and see what that does.Unfortunately, shutting off the forward collision warning didn't help at all. Tow mode does feel like sport mode but the delay on reacceleration from slow speed is still there. So frustrating.
I've tried everything over the past couple of months as well with no change. I hauled 1000 lbs 250 miles yesterday and it was worse because the truck was weighed down. Driving in traffic is infuriating. I'm not sure this is tenable for me long term and I just want my 4th gen back. Good luck with your dealer, mine doesn't give a crap.Unfortunately, shutting off the forward collision warning didn't help at all. Well I just dropped mine off at the dealer tonight. I will let you know if they come back with anything.I've tried everything over the past couple of months as well with no change. I haven't read the entire thread, but have you given thought to a Pedal Commander? So after my trip to the dealer they said that this is just how the truck drives. I pushed back a little bit and they went and "refreshed the transmission adaptive" honesty the first day or two I thought it made a difference. After that it was back to the same thing, I guess it quickly relearned how to drive crappy, HA !
Not sure where to go from here, I am sure if I try to sell it I will be upside down on the loan. Maybe some more research on a PCM tuner, I do think this is a software issue and not a mechanical issue. Thoughts?
I have but I am hesitant, from what i understand the pedal commander just adds gain to the output of the pedal. In my situation though, if I push hard on the pedal from the start it doesn't help, in fact it kind of makes it worse. What i am thinking is that I need the truck to be in the right gear as I am slowing down, not trying to figure out what gear I should be in after I press on the accelerator. Just a theory at this point though.I haven't read the entire thread, but have you given thought to a Pedal Commander?

I have zero experience, so just from reading the interwebs and marketing pieces…they say PC screws up your truck because it doesnt use an external power source.
I have noticed the same issue with my 22. However, I also learned that when I come to a stop light and stop completely I take my foot off the brake pedal and put it back on and the next time I need to take off there is no hesitation.Hey all,
I’m having this issue with about 12k miles on the truck. 5.7 hemi 2023 1500 limited.
from dead stop two things:
1 the truck will surge when let off the brake, I assume due to the auto/start stop?
2 really delayed throttle response From dead stop. The dealer already reflashed/ relearned the throttle body but it’s continuing. To the point i feel it can be unsafe when trying to pull out into traffic. I’m going to end up getting smacked.
Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix? If the fix is to turn options off the get the truck to work right, thats going to be a problem. Thanks for any advice…getting kinda bummed as this is my first Ram.
