TAZER DT for 2019 RAM 1500

Most of the other devices are not like that. this one is probably defective. I mean... You can try....

Mine worked fine for about 6-7 months. Now it won't go to sleep and drains the battery constantly. Tested this yesterday and it is still doing it. Unplugged it and put it in the glove box... sucks because I really liked the auto mirror fold, being able to input addresses into the Nav, and being able to leave my 360 cameras on without them timing out.
I think there is a conflict between the Tazer and the new updated software for the truck which doesn't let the Tazer go to sleep anymore. Maybe Z Automotive will come up with a fix in a 18.0.4 version.

How do you test its not going into sleep mode(other than battery going dead) and how days does of truck sitting before going dead?

Leave it hanging and look for the little red light by the usb port. It should shutoff after a couple minutes when the dash goes dark. When mine went dead, it happened in less than 9 hours. 0 volts from battery.

I suspect lot rot and bad grounds, not the tazer at this point. it took 2 days of being on a 10 amp smart charger, and a half day at 2 amp trickle to finally charge to full.

Getting the battery back to life took hooking up a 1000 amp jump box, not starting, connecting a a 200 amp NAPA dumb charger and also not starting. Jumping from a 2000 CCA RV also no start. Ended up slaving the 1000 amp back and also the smart charger at 50 amps for 10 minutes and got voltage. Then removed jump box and 10 amp smart charger for an hour. Was able to jump it then with another car. Left it on 10 amp smart charger overnight and all day, went to 2 amps the next morning at 90% and took a half day more to show full charge at 13.6v.

I got mine plugged in and configured. No problems just had to do it a couple of times to figure it out. I wish the instructions were written better tho. or I'm just an idiot

I agree that the instructions aren’t the best! But I really had no issues with mine either!

When changing tire sizes with the Tazer DT, does it also correct shift points like the Rough Country Module? Does it disable the self parking features like the Rough Country?

Not sure about the self park as I don’t have that. But the shift points aren’t changed from what I can tell.

Is there any way to turn on ONLY the turn signals as DRL? I’ve set the turns as DRL, but my white factory LED DRL remain on as well. I can’t seem to find a setting that uses only the turns.

Also, can anyone explain what “Disable Halos” does? I’m not even sure if I have these on my 2020 Laramie...

EDIT for anyone one else as stupid as me :)
The marker lights option on the lights knob starts the white lights as well as DRL, so you need to be on the AUTO setting during the day to get the turn signals only to activate as DRL. No wonder I couldn’t get it at night!

Does anyone know what the "Set LED CMHSL: This setting is to configure the vehicle for LED 3rd brake light." does really? I have a limited, and the 3rd brake light and 2 cargo bulbs were not LED. I used the HID KIT PRO bulb kit to swap them over. I am not sure why there would need to be a setting in Tazer for this?

I was wondering the same thing. Just taking a guess but I bet by calibrating the speed the shift points are corrected due to the ECM receiving the correct speed.bNot that its a separate step. Plausible?

I recently bought some LED front turn signals and LED fog lights, as well as a Tazer DT. They all arrive today. The LED turn signals come with a 6ohm resistor, to prevent hyperflashing. Does anyone know if I select LED front turn signals on the Tazer, if I will need to install the resistors?

I reached out to ZAutomotive. They said the setting is for bulbs without built in resistors. Bulbs like these: https://hidkitpros.com/shop/2009-2018-ram-1500-high-power-led-cargo-lights/ the setting is not required.
 
One other thing I didn't see addressed on here. Can you use a Diablo Sport tuner w/ unlocked PCM as well as the Tazer? I already have the Diablo module plugged into the SGW location. Is there some adapter that allows you to plug in 2 things, or is that just not possible?

Tazer doesn’t plug into the OBD port. It goes into the BCM module under the dash.

Yeah, I understand that. I don't have anything plugged into my OBD port. In order to use the Diablo unlocked PCM, they have a module that has to plug into the SGW location, which is where the Tazer plugs in. I text the Zauto guy, so we will see if I get a response.

You can use both. That's why the tazer require you to activate the cruise control.
To operate the Diablo, CC off.
To operate the Tazer, CC on.

EDIT: I meant Pulsar, Not Diablo.
