Received my Putco Blade 60" (92009-60) and Putco quick connect harness (529004) from Amazon last week and just installed it last night. I was going to test it out and then work on an Arduino no-delay hack later, but after testing it by recording a video on the phone, I found the delay to be minimal (0.03 to 0.05 seconds, from a 30 fps video). The delay is so minor that I really don't think a no-delay hack is necessary. Either Putco recently revised their electronics or my 2020 Ram has a different delay in the trailer wiring than others.

Here's the video:

For those that used the Curt adapter, how did you remove the OE plug? Is it a twist, or are there plastic clips? I can't see/feel how to disconnect.

Press in on clip towards top of connector and pull straight out.

I have the opt7 redline but I suspect it would be same for putco. Installed with spacers underneath mounting clips. IIRC 1/2" ROUND plastic spacers on outside and 1/4" on inside

I think they’re using spacers to bring it away from those plastic pieces that stick out. I went with the 2X18 Putco and couldn’t be happier and the install was very easy.

I think they should sell them with the spacers. How long did you make the spacers?
1/2 spacers on outside clips and 1/4 spacers on inside clips. I used 2 of each spacer to mount bar.

Pretty sure these are the ones I used but either way they should work

Great guidance on this post. I appreciate all the input everyone has provided. Finally got the light bar installed today. Definitely a tight fit for the Triple OPT7 and install was not as straight forward as on the older gens, but it's on and looks good!

Looks very good did the quick connector (529004) come with connectors for the black and white wires on the lightbar. amazon reviews said there was no weatherproof connectors on the quick connector

The quick connector actually came with the weatherproof connectors on both the wires. The only wire that was missing a quick connector was the 12V+ wire on the light bar controller box; had to cut it and add the male weatherproof connector (the male end actually came connected to the female end on the quick connector but was missing the metal pin, which I had to salvage from one of the quick connectors I bought in this kit ahead of time in case the quick connector didn't come with any).

any recommend the red or amber opt7? not sure which colour I should get, the red would match the existing tail lights I guess.

Here are pics of opt7 mounted, first 2 are top view (of clips with spacers) and next 2 are front view
Quick question.....Are the screws just tapped into the black plastic or are they through the plastic and into the steel behind it? My truck has about a 1/4" gap between the black plastic and the steel. If you are threaded into the steel did you put a spacer between the plastic and the steel or draw the 2 together?

I used nuts/bolts to secure the mounting brackets to the plastic part - no interference with the steel part. I used 10-24 1" flat head allen drive bolts and serrated flange nuts. Was going to use screws but figured being able to use a bolt would be a bit more secure.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the way I will install also.
