Okay going to try to explain this best I can. So I have noticed ther last few weeks that when J come to a stop and when I accelerate from a stop that I feel what i can only explain as a stuttering type of vibration. It feels kind of like when towing and that slack feeling you get when coming to a stop or initial acceleration. I am going in for the recall next week and would love to know how or where to point to with this. Brakes, mounts, driveline? Thanks

I experience the same/slightly different issue when coming to a stop my truck "surges" when downshifting. It is more noticeable/prominent when I have the AC on high

I am at 13,000mi and it started at around 10,000mi. I have the standard 5.7 non-etorque engine.

i have a 2019 Ram 1500 I bought it 5/31/19 I noticed a shutter on take off with about 200 miles on it, does not happen all the time but I was worried it maybe some thing with the trans. have about 700 miles on it now , my 2010 Ram 1500 hemi never did this, or my 2007 Ram 1500 hemi, WTH ?????

I have 12500 miles and probably started around 10k or 11k, non etorque. Happens probably 75% of the time. Its when im stopped and first release brake pedal it studders, almost like its releasing built up tension or something. Not sure if something needs retorqued or if its the transmission needs the updates.

This is spot-on exactly what my truck does... Have you noticed it's more aggressive when your AC is on high?

My truck has been doing this since I took delivery with 30 miles. Just over 4000 and it doesn't happen as much or I am just used to it.

I just took mine in today bc it seemed to hesitate sometimes between first and second gear and a couple other things(ac issue everything shut off but on the Uconnect it said it was all on and it seems not very cold when the outside temp is above 90, they told me there is a flash bullion issued on the ac and Ram is working on a software flash) but back to the hesitation, they said there is a tcm flash for the transmission and and the radiator fan and it does seem that my fan runs on high all the time even when the truck is not hot yet. I just drove it home and didn’t seem to have the issue but it does come and go so I will have to let you know if this fixes my situation. @RamCares could you let me know if that really is the case on the ac. Thanks

I have this same issue... is it like a jolt when you accelerate from a stop? like someone rear ended you slightly?
please let me know guys! I'm starting to think that I am crazy

thank you!!

start reading up on the Slip Yoke rear end issues that others have had, your description fits the issues seen here:

Hello,
Based on what you all have been describing, I located TSB 18-009-19 REV. B which may help with your concerns. I recommend contacting your local FCA certified dealer so they can locate this TSB and determine if it applies to your truck. We are available via private message if you need and additional assistance with this!

Would this also apply to the 5.7 liter Hemi as well?

I'm having this same issue with my 2019 1500 5.7L. I took it to the dealer 3x. The first time they said that it has a "smart" transmission that shifts into neutral as you come to a stop, and when you take your foot off the brake it goes back into gear. This doesn't make sense because the truck will sometimes be accelerating when the bump occurs.

The second time I reported that the transmission will also feel like it is slipping if I do a rolling stop. They did a code update, which took care of the shifting, but the bump is still there.

On the third trip, I spoke with a tech. He says that this is normal with the 8 speed transmission, and that it doesn't always shift all the way down when you stop. When the truck senses that you are about to go again, it shifts into the right gear. He says his Dodge Charger does the same thing, and it's better to feel the shift because soft transmissions wear faster.

I can also produce the effect by stopping, and then shifting into neutral. So it is definitely related to the transmission. It just doesn't feel "normal" to me.

I wonder if indeed it is normal and everyone has is :(

but if it is, it still sucks to have it.

Anychance your truck has eTorque? My new 2019 RAM has the option where my engine stops when the break is applied for X amount of time (Stop lights..etc). I feel the same thing you do when that is enabled. However, I turn it off most of the time to avoid that stutter.

Mine has this bump when releasing the brake / when accelerating too. My dealer replaced the drive shaft, after the technician there spoke with STAR and they both agreed the drive shaft sounded like it was binding.

Well, 400 miles after the replacement, it was back to doing it. It stopped entirely during those 400 miles, but is now back to exactly how it was before with the old shaft.

Just had it in for recall and the dealer of course couldn't replicate the issue. Felt it the first stop on way home. I even told them to look at the drive shaft. Ill try again in a few weeks.
