Sales were declining well before there was no Hemi optionI’m guessing with Kuniskis coming back and EV’s likely being pushed aside a bit by the coming administration we might actually have some excitement coming back since the death of the Hellcat Dodge’s and TRX. The future was looking pretty dark. I’m really hoping for a re-designed cleaner burning 450+ hp V8 in the trucks.
Eliminating a V8 in RAM’s is obviously the main reason for rapidly decreasing sales. Truck guys want a V8. It’s as simple as that. The Hurricane might end up being a great motor but cannot be the ONLY option along with the old V6. Ford and GM have the right idea. Options are good and will produce more sales.

what V6? The pentastar? Hurricane is an inline 6 which is quite different.I can feel the interest in the Ram brand throbbing already . This is a step in the right direction, as long as he has the freedom to make viable long-term plans. The V6 is here to stay, and that's fine, but if he is willing to develop a V8 option for the next gen Ram it will definitely help sales.
However, it can't stop there. I think many (if not most) of us can attest to the lousy level of customer service at dealer repair facilities. THAT has been one of the biggest contributors to the decline in sales of Stellantis-owned brands in the US, imo. If I had to/chose to depend on dealers for all of my service and maintenance I would have moved on from Ram and Dodge years ago. Don't bother bringing back a V8 if you aren't going to support it with dealers who care, and who have the tech and parts network required to satisfy new and future consumers.

5 plus years ago, I had no issues with the Ram Dealer service departments. It's been within the past few years that it has really went off the deep end. The dealer I used to use and where I bought my previous 2 Rams used to go out of their way even covered me on some items that were out of warranty. Then it all went down hill to the point where they did not even want the work telling me to check other dealers who were not as busy. Well that is what I did and never went back, now they must really be hurting as they are leaving me voicemails and emails every day that my 2019, that I don't even own anymore is overdue for service.I can feel the interest in the Ram brand throbbing already . It's across the board with all brands, not just CDJR dealers. I'm on a ,Chevy Traverse group, and see the same comments about dealer service there5 plus years ago, I had no issues with the Ram Dealer service departments. The whole "working harder" to build the power is more of trying to compare a turbo engine to a N/A V8. The Hurricane is designed to operate at higher RPM than a V8, so while the RPMs may have been higher, saying it's "working harder" is very subjective, and probably leans more towards just ignorant of how a twin turbo I-6 worksHere is one take on towing with the GM 6.2 vs Ford EB Hybrid vs Ram HO. They all preferred to tow with the 6.2, the HO was "working harder to build that boost". The HO is obviously quickest 0 to 60 but that's the most useless metric in a truck.
So yeah, Ram needs another v8.

With perceived quality issues, costing nearly 10K more isn't great.Time to lower MSRP’s. Huge increases the last 5 years haven’t exactly helped sales any. Never heard so many long time truck owners finally say enough is enough and refusing to buy any more new trucks.
Post pandemic sticker only price or sometimes even more is long gone and current discounts and incentives won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. The writing was on the wall when brand new re-designed 2025’s were already being heavily discounted BEFORE they even reached dealer lots. That’s unheard of. Obviously time to adjust MSRP’s accordingly and quit playing the huge discount games.
They’re not gonna attract any more customers with these current sticker prices. That’s the first thing people look at when shopping on the dealer lots. Sticker shock only drives them away. I miss the days when RAM’s actually were the best deal out there before all the greed took over. Bring back those days.
