Caleb,
If you get your dealership to have a technician drive it for an extended period, like drive it home over night, it will duplicate. This issue is that at the dealership they aren’t driving it for long enough, so you will have to give them permission to drive it for the extended period. After months of back and forth they finally duplicated mine and identified it as the rack being faulty. The technician literally stated that it scared the sh@t out of him when he had to break the truck out of a turn. So the part was ordered and was scheduled to be repaired. But, after months of RamCare reps (3-4) and over 6 total weeks in the shop the day the rack was supposed to be installed the Star engineers denied the install. They stated that due to a leveling kit they would not warranty the repair. I had to immediately pick up my truck and everyone went silent. Couldn’t get help from anyone. I would love to hear how they can show a leveling kit could possible do internal damage to a rack?? And since they can’t prove it could, it should be repaired. But, instead I got pushed out the door stuck with a $60k truck that has a safety issue with the steering. There only response is for me to return it to factory configuration and then they will fix it. Lol it would be cheaper for me to just pay to replace the rack myself. They don’t stand behind their product, there are many early manufactured 2019 Rams with this issue and I think they are just trying to avoid a recall. Unfortunately I am currently away with the Army, but once I return I will continue to push to get my truck fixed to the standard in which the manufacturer should hold their product too. Love my truck, but this will be the last dodge/ram/Jeep/Chrysler product I ever own. And before this I swore I would never buy anything other than a Ram or Jeep. But seems that customer service and product backing has gone out the window and Ram Care reps apparently have no boss, so when I asked to speak to someone higher I was told to write a letter. So sad they are ok with the dealer noting the faulty steering rack and FCA says put it back on the road with his family. Hope you don’t have any stickers or window tint they will claim that caused the internal rack flat spot. Worthless.
