So here we are over 6 months later and I still cannot get a dealer to recognize this issue! I've pretty much given up as I work 50-60 weeks and don't have time to keep returning to dealers to have them tell me they can't recreate the issue although I experience it every day. One dealer charged me for an alignment and said it was fixed, but later I found out they put on the service invoice "they couldn't recreate the problem" leaving me wondering why they did an alignment! Disappointed in the service I've experienced with this truck! You are most welcome, please do not hesitate to keep us posted!

We certainly understand your frustration with this unresolved concern! What we are able to do from this level is escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for an additional layer of support as you work with your dealer. This will provide the dealership and yourself with an individual who will review your concern, then assist in exhausting all available resources until it is fully addressed and resolved. So here we are over 6 months later and I still cannot get a dealer to recognize this issue! Similar issue here, I have 35,000 miles on a 2019 bighorn. since around 5,000 miles I've had a sort of knocking in that area over bumps, it progressed to a pop when driving at speed and the wheel was returning to center from a left or right hand turn and approaching 10 or 2 o'clock, respectively. Recently, it developed further into a crunching noise when turning the wheel in any direction, but the wheel binds up slightly at the same 10 and 2 o'clock positions where I had been hearing pops.I've got a 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn/Lonestar, 70,000 miles and I'm experiencing the same issues. Mine occurs when driving on the highway mostly. These issues started about 2 weeks ago. Now, when I turn the wheel at low speeds, there's a clicking/popping noise coming from what I think is the front left area. Has anyone else experienced this with the rack and pinion issue? Could a CV axle cause the steering wheel stick issues as well? From some research, it appears that the clicking/popping noise could be a CV axle. Of course, my vehicle is no longer under warranty so I'm dreading the possibility that it could be the rack and pinion.. $$$$. Thanks!
From what I've read about the popping you're experiencing it's the sway bar end links that need retorquing . As far as the sticking steering everything points to a new rack unfortunately . I've found on mine that if I slightly giggle the steering wheel to the right while in a left turn it doesn't do it at all .Similar issue here, I have 35,000 miles on a 2019 bighorn. since around 5,000 miles I've had a sort of knocking in that area over bumps, it progressed to a pop when driving at speed and the wheel was returning to center from a left or right hand turn and approaching 10 or 2 o'clock, respectively. My dealership says It's a bad steering rack, I'm now out of warranty, and a new one is $2,500.
Did you ever find out what was causing your problem?
I'll have to give that a try, somehow the binding always catches me off guard...From what I've read about the popping you're experiencing it's the sway bar end links that need retorquing . I don't mean actually turning the wheel right be any means , just slightly take the pressure off . Hope that makes sense .
Here it is 2022 and I've never been able to get this issue corrected! I've made this complaint to at least 4 different dealers all the way back to the original purchase of this vehicle. All the dealers tell me they've never heard of this issue even thou it's all over the internet. I've been considering a new vehicle, but sadly have begun to research other manufacturers! You are most welcome, please do not hesitate to keep us posted!
