Just an update, I just picked up my truck this morning and the instrument gauge goes off after 5 minutes or so. They had to replace my radio frequency hub under warranty just in case someone else has this problem in the future.

Thanks for reporting back with the solution!

I just experienced this issue twice today. I shut the truck down and deployed the steps as I always do to help prevent against dings and noticed the nav screen still glowing and the push button to start message still lit in the cluster. Came back to the truck an hour or so later and both still on. Had to start the truck and play with it a while to get it to go off. Unfrigginreal. Another problem for the list.

In good news, I have not had a single issue with my truck since this. The replacement time is short (assuming they have the part in stock). Best of luck my friend.

My dealer is opening a case on the issue. Did you wait for the vehicle while they replaced the RF Hub? I believe it's behind the rear seat if my memory serves me correct?

I didn't have my truck for two weeks while they chased down what the cause was but they provided me a rental car. It is behind the rear seat.

Thanks. Hasn't happened again (knock on wood) but I seem to think it happened when I manually (using the control) deployed the running boards with the doors open then closed it up and locked it. Although it shouldnt happen regardless I have been cognizant of checking that it shut off prior to walking away.

Bringing up an old thread...has this been remedied by software updates or the like? I have experienced this 3x, each time after manually deploying the bed steps. May 2019 build.

Not sure if it’s ever been resolved by a TSB...but it hasn’t happened since my previous post.

My truck has done this as well As many other things. When it does it again I’m going to try to force only the rfh hub to reset. I can achieve this easily but sitting in the truck with my laptop attached to the obd port.

I park with my steps deployed all the time and haven't ever had a dead battery yet (knock on wood). When I'm parking in the lot at work I raise my air suspension to OR2 and deploy the steps. This cuts down on door dings because the doors on most of the cars at work are too low to clear the steps. So if they aren't paying attention they'll just smack my steps with their door.

You appear to have something else going on there that needs to be diagnosed and repaired. Deploying your steps should have no impact on battery drain.

While checking my security cameras this week I saw a light in my truck in the middle of the night, I thought someone was in my truck! After zooming in I see that my entire instrument cluster and 12" screen are turning on and off randomly all night. I've got 3 videos of this in 2 days.

Is your key fob hanging within rf range of the truck at night?

I’m having the same problem. 2021 limited longhorn with 12” screen. First time the dealer just replaced the battery, it’s done this again 4 more times, has needed a jump start. Dropping off at the dealer, let’s see if they can figure it out.
