Slight vibration

I checked mine and the electric motor is close but not touching vibration module so as of right now I’ll have to say no..I just hit 5k miles on mine and it seems to do it mostly in the morning and around 57-62mph..I’ve just about made up my mine I’m going to get rid of it..I would trade it in and get a 2500 but with all the problems with this and Chrysler has zero answers and my local dealer sucks I’m going to wait until another brand brings out their new trucks and be done with it all together...it’s really ashamed the truck is a piece of art to me inside and out but full of bugs and no customer service..

Mine was so close that I had to use a feeler gage to determine it was hitting. Sorry it didn't work to be your issue.

I don't feel anything on my new 2019 yet (only 300 miles on it). Oddly enough the dealer did mention something like "if you feel any vibrations it's just flat spots on the tires that will go away once you get going" even though I didn't say anything. Makes me think the issue common. Guess I'll find out soon...

Well I finally got rid of all the issues I had with my ram. I got rid of it and bought a Toyota. Now my ac blows cold, my blower fan doesn’t sound like a bi-plane, my steering wheel is straight and the leather is better, my seat doesn’t make clickin noise, the truck doesn’t shake, i don’t have backup sensors that go off for no reason, and I don’t ever have to deal with the idiot at Chrysler. I have to say this forum and the people have been great. but I feel like I got a 10 ton gorilla of my back! Sure the Toyota is a little dated but there is something refreshing about it. I will miss all the storage though.

Such a shame. I hope you got a good trade-in value for the Ram. There is so much potential in these trucks, but as you stated, there are just too many first year issues with the truck, some of which may never be addressed (e.g. vibration, A/C). I'd like to consider trading in my truck as well. Think I'll try to bide my time until Ford or Toyota update their trucks, especially the interiors. Maybe be able to trade-it in and not lose any money in 2-3 years. Good luck to you sir. May your Toyota server you well.

The problem is....they're all junk more or less. GM isn't even on the radar. Just awarded least reliable brands. Ford...well...I've driven F series for 20 year and couldn't pull the trigger this time due to an aged appearance, subpar interior and the Fseries forums are full of nightmares on 4wd, leaks, moonroofs that crack, leak, won't operate, electronics acting up...etc.

I ended up in a RAM for the same reason as iamtheav8r, the F-150 body style is very stale, Three of my last trucks looked way too similar and I really liked the look of the new RAM. But I'm considering going the way of Ramzy, pretty much sick of leaks, vibrations, and just overall very poor quality of the RAM. I've owned it a year and have 20,000 miles and I'm convinced this is not a truck own for the long haul, unless you purchase extended warranty and enjoy spending your day at the dealer arguing because they can't reproduce the horrific brake noise you heard, or having your windshield tint destroyed because they pulled the windshield to replace the stained up headliner. Most expensive truck I've ever purchased and this is how the truck and the dealers have treated me.

Sorry guys, had to vent a little, bout at my wits end with this RAM.

After not driving it for 4 days, I ended up with a completely dead battery.

Gonna have to take it in to have that looked at along with the vibration issue again

Hi flynfish,

Just had a chance to respond to your PM on this!

This thread is effing horrifying.

Ive overlooked the squeeky breaks backing up, the scare the **** out of me sensors ECT..
But recently I've been thinking to myself "is that a vibration or am I just tripping" I mean "it's a truck"
I'm concerned now.

I have 2500 mile old 2020. I have noticed some intermittent, VERY slight vibrations at times. I chalk it up to the tires. So far I am very pleased with the truck. They all have some annoying issues, (even Toyota) it is just a matter of what you choose to put up with, or what you choose to argu with the service writer about.

I got a very fair trade value from Toyota but the rams just don’t hold their value as well as I hoped. However I needed to get out from under it before it started costing me more. I wish you luck and hope your rams issues can be fixed because they are nice trucks. But at the end of the day the good looks just didn’t out way all the issues.

That’s where I’m at. I’ve owned a few brand new trucks in my life. Never felt what I’m feeling with my 2020 limited (because the answer is you should feel NOTHING on a truck with 300 miles on it

I've already moved into "it's a truck" phase. I'm not even exactly sure if what I feel is Normal and this message board is effing w my mind. Besides, FCA won't do anything without dedicating huge chunks of our life. I'm going to level mine w tires ECT, and perhaps sell it earlier than my last one. I'll also be open to other brands. Oh well, it's not like the breaks failed......

.....they just squak.

I went the legal route and FCA basically said the vibrations aren’t that important to take the car back. The truck is on a lease and Lawyer said that FCA won’t do a buy back only willing to do a few dollar payout. What a friggen joke. Seems like FCA dropped the ball on this one. Will definitely not be leasing another RAM, dodge or any other FCA car again. They only look after their pockets and that’s it. Dealer said that they can’t pin point the issue. GM here I come..

My truck drove smooth up until about 2000 miles then it started getting a slight shake in the gas pedal, then the stearing wheel then the truck. As I drove it it kept get more defined. It was like I was feeling the road and engine shaking at the same time. As I drove an hour to the Toyota dealer I couldn’t wait to get get rid of it. It was actually exhausting to drive. Even more so knowing ram didnt care. I just didn’t trust the truck, dealer or manufacturer anymore. So I traded it in and I actually like my Toyota more. Sure nothings perfect but there is something refreshing going old school with the most reliable brand.

Well I got 5400 on mine and it shakes still..but I have found the issue but Chrysler nor a dealer will fix it..I unplugged the vibrating weights on both sides drove it for 3 days and never felt the shake again..So here’s the deal and I bet a lot of you are having the issue..when the truck goes into mds the weights are suppose to come on and cancel the vibration well I tried what everyone was saying about using the gear select to keep it from going into the mode and see if that fixes it..and the truck at mph 57-62mph still would start shaking..so I decided to unplug the things and drive it with no mds and no shake weights and boom..it don’t shake at all..completely gone for 3 days..so that tells me it’s a programming issue because I think they are shaking when they aren’t suppose to..if it was mechanical it would shake period..so I called the dealership and the response was well that’s fine and all but we have no way of communicating with them so I don’t know what to tell you..so the short version is Chrysler don’t give a crap..because if they did they would get one of our trucks and come up with a fix but considering I e had the problems since nov 2018 and they haven’t came up with a update tells me they don’t care..

That's just a lazy dealer. They could open a star case and have an engineer come test your truck using the method you described but it sounds like they don't feel like it. I'd try another dealer if you have one available.

How did you disconnect the weights? I would like to try this on mine and see if the problem goes away.

If disconnecting the weights + disabling MDS fixes the problem, then you could just unplug them and buy a Pulsar to permanently disable MDS (or whatever other product lets you do the same). Sad that you have to do something like that when a software update could probably fix the issue though.

Why not? We're already hacking our A/C with an $8 Harbor Freight clamp. :ROFLMAO:

Has this been resolved yet?
I test drove a 2019 Laramie with a February 18 build date and at higher speeds I experienced the same vibration as so many others have described here. Loved the truck otherwise but didn’t pull the trigger.Does anybody with the 6 Cylinder gas or ecodiesel have the issue
From what I understand the active tuned mass modules are only on the Hemi
