I guess it depends who you know but I personally wouldn't attempt this myself....I would run out of cuss words to say during install.
lol me too, im paying someone at this point... no access to a lift and not even thinking of attacking this in the driveway on my back!

AFE is also claiming pretty significant gains with their shorty's and no tune (pics below). $784 sounds better than $1,400 to me.

I could be mistaken , but I don't think these look much different than the stock manifolds. I'll have to go out and take a look once this crazy rain stops. I would think for them to get measurable gains they would have tuned runner lengths

At first glance yeah one might say they don't look much different but it's the "4-to-1 mitered merge collectors that eliminate flow-block turbulence created by formed collectors" (quoted from the website) that give you the gains.
Lamans terms...... individual pipe per cylinder to the exhaust instead of one main collector pipe for all cylinders to allow unblocked flow strait to the exhaust pipe. Clear as mud!

I’m gonna pull the trigger on AFE shorties soon. I have a broken bolt on cylinder 8. My truck was pre tie bars so my bolt broke instead of cracking the manifold.

Bummer on the broken bolt.
I would love some feedback after install of shorty's.

Will update when I do it. Luckily the bolt head popped at the manifold and not the block. I just need to verify the Remflex gaskets work. I’m sure they do since it’s still a Gen3 block hemi. I did make it over 95k before it broke though.

In all reality any gains will be bonus. Not buying because of supposed gain. Just want to fix it right, but justify an upgrade and a little eye candy when looking there. It did help justifying when the wife heard the exhaust leak and asked what that sound was

I hear you, totally sounds like sh** when you have an exhaust manifold leak. My driver side manifold cracked at 21k miles 😡.
Good luck, can't wait to hear how it goes.

Those AFE gains look promising, especially with a lot of gain in the low rpm range for both Hp and torque.

Just found this thread, I'm thinking of going with the kooks shorties too but the price feels like it doesn't justify it.

I'd rather get longtube but people been telling me it won't pass inspection 😩. Anyone know if jersey will fail you for longtube?

Did you ever get the AFe shorties? I’m eyeing them myself.

I have been happy with the AFE shorties that I had ceramic coated. No issues to date. And probably about 15,000mi on them. I can’t speak to any serious power gains as I use a pedal commander to modulate throttle sensitivity. I wouldn’t recommend them unless you have manifold issues or are going full tune and intake and exhaust.

See attached link for some more info on cracked manifolds and some discussion on what it takes to swap the manifolds to headers.

Did you ever confirm if the remflex work? If so can I have the link to the one you end up using?

They don’t care much these days as long as it passes emissions and there’s no check engine light. I had long tubes on my 07 f150 but they were catted. I passed every time I went to inspection in Randolph

Bump to the top. Getting a second manifold next month; that makes this an 8 month ordeal. Won't bother with factory crap after the warranty is done, so just checking in to see what everyone likes for shorties.

Well came across this thread because now, I am in the same boat. Cracked manifold at 53k miles on my 5.7 etorque. Now I'm looking for shorties to hopefully not have this issue again with the Mopar junk that was put on here. If anyone has any updates on their shorty headers it will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
