I was about to put some tape over those vents when I found this thread(y)(y). Mine doesn't have the seal (Dec build date) This is not good. The last thing I want to find out is about more missing parts:(

Yea...I'd be pretty upset about this one for sure. I really hate noise. I'm missing a led light strip above my glove box but I'd but I'd be that much more upset if it were something like this seal...seems like it is supposed to be on the truck.

Has anyone had a dealer look at and resolve the issue?
I took mine to the dealer this morning to get installed because I wasn't able to put it on myself. They had a trim guy try and install it and he couldn't do it so they transferred it to some other guy and now want to charge me $250 labor to install it. I said it should be covered under warranty and the service rep said since I haven't called Chrysler about it and ordered the part myself it isn't covered by warranty. So now I am on the phone with Chrysler and was speaking to one rep and then got disconnected. I called back and heard someone breathing for 2 seconds and disconnected again. So now currently on my third phone call with Chrysler as I type this. @RamCares

So I think it was mentioned previously in the thread but they stopped putting that center seal in trucks built after 9/18. Because of this they will not cover the part or install under warranty. So now the cab will remain loud on the interior instead of being fixed with $20 part. Also, not sure how you other guys were able to install the part. The service guys said they had to remove the fuel tank to access everything.

I gotta call BS on fuel tank removal. Sure, it's difficult to put the seal piece in with the tank in place but if many of the users on this forum are capable of doing it surely a trained tech can figure it out. I'm thinking that the shop is hungry for hours.

^^what @JLUR_ said. Unless your setup is vastly different than mine and the others who have installed themselves, this is a simple install. A bit of a pain getting your arm in position, but not difficult. I did the install on stock suspension height with the wheel to wheel sidesteps by sliding under the truck from either side and working my way through the connections without tools. It took about 15 minutes and I was taking my time looking over everything else under there. If I had the luxury of a lift like the dealer, I would estimate this is a 5 minute job. If you have other dealers close by, I would be making some calls.

I'm new to the forum. I started a new post on my interior noise in rear cabin. I'm gonna get that rear center seal and install myself. Dealer already replaced entire rear window, and I still have the same noise. Noise is in right rear, and when you look down from the bed, fuel cell takes up room on driver side, but all there is on passenger side is muffler, frame and pavement. I'm thinking that's where the air is coming up. I'll try to keep everyone posted.

Here is my post from a few pages back. The seal will make a big difference. but to finish it you need to dynamat the rear cab panel. I have that posted a few pages back also

I put the seal in last weekend and I think it made a difference. I don't here the outside as clear as I did before. I feel without the seal the vents in the first photo are pushed open by the air moving between the box and the cab, It seemed like something was open behind the back seat. I didn't need the blind spot indicator in the mirror I could hear the car in my blind spot and the rear tires humming down the road. With the seal in place I don't hear it anymore. I was able to put the truck in off road 2 and crawl under and stick it on. The clip above the 33 gallon tank was the only hard one. I still have some noise and there is a sound pad behind the seat (that my truck was suppose to have but doesn't) I think will take car of the rest of it. Hope this helps, I will post photos of the sound pad behind the rear seat when I get to doing it.

Update, they installed it for $50. It has made an improvement but still sounds like an open window so next step would be what @John Hable is doing

Took my truck to the dealer yesterday and told them about the missing horizontal bed seal that was causing road noise in side the cab. They agreed and installed it under warranty. That 4ft seal sure does make a lot of difference in blocking road noise coming through does rear cab vents.

I reached out to Ramcares who is member of this board asking why the seal has been left off and received the following response..."Thank you for reaching out to us about this concern. We understand why this may be frustrating. I am unable to determine why the seal has been left off but I suggest speaking with your dealer about this if you have not done so already. If you decide to have an appointment set up, please feel free to let me know as well and I will gladly have a case escalated in your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with you dealer to help address this." You can send a message to ramcares here on this board.

I told my salesman about this and he just happens to have a Ram rep coming today. I took several of the screen shots of this forum and emailed him the link. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks.

Probably a supplier issue or just forgot it...I'll be curious to hear the line of B.S. as it always fascinates me how they come up with this stuff. haha

My dealer is going to order and install seal under warranty. They said for no more than it will cost them they would be glad to give it a try. The Ram rep that was there knew nothing about it. Thanks for all of the good info!

Lucky for me being in military. My "hobby shop" has a lift you can rent for a few hours for a nominal fee. May be taking my puppy in there and servicing it for these types of things.

I installed the seal the other day outside. One thing I couldnt do is use the first hole on the drivers side because the seal will be way short on the other side. I set it in there above the fuel tank centred it best I could and snapped it in to the adjoining holes. Mine was so noisy I couldn't tell the difference between recirc or fresh on the climate control when I switched it as others speak about. Now with the seal installed you can definetely here it sucking when you swing it to recirc. The seal is a huge improvement but this truck is not as quiet as the 17 Denali I had but other then that I prefer the 19 Limited all the way (y)(y)

Is this issue present only on the limiteds, or is this on other trims?
