Rear window surround crack.

I’m having issue!! Got word today mine won’t be covered. Called Chrysler.. waiting for call back. To see what the deal is with it and why the denied coverage. Anyone else been denied coverage?

Contact @RamCares and ask them to help. They tend to get results. It’s not a glass issue. unless the glass breaks it has nothing to do with glass. Some dealers are idiots.

The frame is considered part of the glass, it's sold as a unit. The unit is covered 3yr/ 36k

It’s not per my dealer and ramcares. The frame is not under glass warranty which is only 12 mo. / 12k. Ton of guys getting it replaced beyond 12/12 so it’s clearly not glass warranty which means that it’s not part of glass if they’re covering beyond glass warranty

I’ve never ever opened mine and am on my 3rd window including the original

That doesn't give me much confidence long-term. If there's a next time I would likely swap it out for a solid window and hope that makes a difference.

If this is as widespread as it seems, Ram would do well to continue to support fixes well after warranty periods expire. After all, there's a reason why no one likes class-action lawsuits: no one wins except the lawyers. However, there is a place for them and that's to hold corporations accountable for mistakes. In this case, it is starting to sound like there's something amiss with how the cabin flex analysis was performed and what materials were used to produce the rear-window surround.

It's hard to understand how widespread this really may be.

Fingers crossed that my truck won't suffer from this...but if it does, hoping that it does so very soon after getting it.

I would say 100% of 2019-2020 Rams are affected. It is only a matter of time with this brittle plastic frame. About to get my third window in a couple weeks.

It could be worse......The 2017/18 F150s had back glass mysteriously shattering for no apparent reason, but more than likely it was also cab flex. I'll take a leak to a missing window any day of the week!

How long has it been taking to get the windows to the dealerships? Mine was ordered last week but they still haven't received it, so I'll be pushing my visit out another week since their glass guy only works on Thursdays.

Mine is taking over a month to get. Hopefully because it's the updated model

mines been in the dealer since the monday after the superbowl! 02.09.21 had to wait for approval .. its still there... waiting for window and frame to come in, loaner 2021 Ram has the water leak as well 1300miles on it, also replaced 3rd brake light that came with torque screws. still waiting patiently...

Picked mine up again...guy on the phone said they had to remove the glass and reseal it ( yeah I know). I made him say it again just make sure I hadn’t completely lost my hearing. When I pick it up the service ticket said it was the brake light that was leaking and that’s what they resealed. So very less than impressed with this dealer. I have a feeling there will be a third visit in my future...

Just got the rear window replaced yesterday and giving it the whole weekend for the sealant to cure before trying the car wash.
Fingers crossed that I don’t run into the sealing issues some ran into after having the windshield replaced

Can you tell if there is anything different about It? Doesn't look like they switched to a metal.

Hello. I just found a crack/leak in my truck as well yesterday. I noticed your post and after doing some online surfing of the ole interwebs, I have found the attached STAR Bulletin. Hope that helps you and you get a proper fix. My wheels go into the shop on Monday morning for its exam so I hope they do the right thing and replace what needs to be replaced. Cheers.

Found a slight leak and cracks in my rear window frame called my dealer set an appointment with a glass guy they have come once a week. My truck "2019 Bighorn" has almost 45,000 miles but I do have an FCA seven year unlimited mile service contract. My service advisor told me after the exam of the vehicle that he had to contact the regional manager to get window replacement approved. I left at 930 am he called me at 300pm that afternoon to tell me that the repair was approved. He called me a couple of days later to tell me that everything had been ordered. Great service!!!!
